In the waning light of 2024, there stood a team known as the Carmel Reds. A band of seventeen. They fought in the HVNABA Westchester Fall Division — and though they battled with valor, the gates of the playoffs remained closed.

 

But from that campaign… a schism. Half the warriors turned east — back to comfort, to old ways.

 

The others? They became the Westchester Royals.

 

Formed not by chance, but by choice. A sovereign rebellion. Forged in the crucible of defeat, made whole by hunger, and sworn to a single code:

 

Respect the game. Dig deep. Play hard ball.

 

This was no vanity squad. No parade of stat-chasers or glory-seekers. These were grinders. Fighters. Men who stare down the count, who spit in the face of doubt, and find steel in the silence between innings.

 

They entered the inaugural Westchester Rec Division not as newcomers, but as stormbringers — determined to write a new chapter in Westchester lore.

 

And so, they play.
