The Grizzlies is the official full contact football team for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The team is a non-profit organization that raises money for charity. Grizzlies players love football, the camaraderie of the team and are dedicated to the 999 for Kids Foundation. If Children Need Assistance, 999 for Kids and the Grizzlies Step Up!
It has been the dream of so many Deputies over the past 30 years to have our own team in the NPSFL, and now our dream has come true with the approval of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. For the last few decades LA County Deputies have played on different teams in Southern California like the Orange County Lawmen, LAPD Centurions, LA Heat, Strikeforce and the South Bay Blue Knights. We can all come together now and play on one unified LASD team: the LA Grizzlies.
Although the Grzzlies represent LASD, the team welcomes all 1st responders to join the team. We currently have players from the CDC, local Fire Stations and a number of local police departments on the team (Click Here to Join).
The LA Grizzlies play in the National Public Safety Football league. In the Spring of 2024, the Grizzlies look to compete for the NPSFL Division I Championship that will likely incude games against:
