About the MO 22 Lacrosse

1. Executive Summary

  • Missouri 22 Lacrosse (MO 22) is a nonprofit 501 C 3 organization created to promote boys lacrosse for high school players in the State of Missouri.  MO 22's goal is to foster a higher level of lacrosse play and exposure for boys in the State of Missouri looking to expand their skills and explore recruiting opportunities in preparation for playing lacrosse in college.
  • As a nonprofit operation, in lieu of generating income via participant dues, MO 22 will be supported by individual, corporate and fund raising income
  • Fostering a higher level of play will promote Missouri nationally as a serious feeder for lacrosse talent looking to play lacrosse at a collegiate level.
  • MO 22 is a program that is in direct response to the growing number of young men looking to play lacrosse at a level that will help improve their skills and promote their talents to the college teams. 
  • MO 22 will focus primarily on high school boys throughout the state of Missouri and the Metro East . The opportunity to play via tryouts will be open to all boys in rising 9th – 12th grades.
  • The MO 22 team is an open competition club available to anyone who wants to tryout for the team whether they aspire to play college lacrosse or not.
  • Through a disciplined approach to coaching, MO 22 will provide a competitive platform that will expose the selected participants to rigorous training in preparation for play at a minimum of two summer tournaments. 
  • Over time, MO 22 will create a learning environment that will be an invaluable resource to the young men  aspiring to improve their skills, and play lacrosse at a higher level. 
  • And our hope and expectation is that alumni will return and give back to the program.


1.1 Objectives

MO 22 is being established to provide a higher level of play within boy’s lacrosse in Missouri. The program will create community partnerships with the local schools, corporate and individual donors who share the same vision and mission regarding establishing Missouri as a serious feeder of lacrosse talent into the college lacrosse community.  

  • MO22: Focused on rising  – 11th graders, and is the central program of MO 22.  Tryouts will be open to all boys in the state of Missouri and the metro east with a team of 22 being chosen from tryout pool. Tryouts will take place each year with the team being picked by MSLA coaches.    

 

1.2 Mission

MO 22 is committed to:

  • Developing Missouri’s best boys lacrosse players, raising funds for the continuing development of the sport of lacrosse, and to support, encourage and promote Missouri boy’s lacrosse talent to colleges recruiting boys to play at the collegiate level.
  • Developing highly skilled and passionate lacrosse players throughout the state of Missouri and provide them with the opportunity to compete in lacrosse tournaments held throughout the country for national. Many of these tournaments exist to showcase our players to college coaches.
  • Providing players superior coaching and competitive play with national exposure at an affordable cost is the cornerstone of the MO 22 lacrosse Club.
  • Providing lifelong friendships between players, parents, and coaches from the many different Missouri schools and communities from which our teams are comprised is another added benefit.

MO 22 will carry out this mission by:

  • Putting together a highly competitive Missouri boy’s lacrosse team as chosen by MSLA coaches, and have them compete in at least 2 summer tournaments
  • Providing a low cost program open to all players attending Missouri High Schools 
  • Increasing the desire to play at a higher level of lacrosse by providing professionally managed teams, competition, and services with the aim of improving the overall level of lacrosse and assist the boys with a better understanding of the college recruiting process 
  • Increasing Missouri’s position as a reputable feeder state for college lacrosse
  • Promoting sportsmanship, friendship, education and a sense of community
  • Building relationships with college programs across the country

 

1.3 Keys to Success

  • Creating a nonprofit organization focused on forwarding the best boys lacrosse team in Missouri, and not on generating a profit
  • Establish a strong network of support with the high schools throughout the state of Missouri and the metro east 
  • Establish a strong network of support with local corporate and individual donors
  • Offering superior coaching, education, and a platform for boys to gain exposure to college recruiting 
  • Consistently putting a nationally competitive team on the field
  • Competing in nationally recognized recruiting tournaments
