Our History

• The New York Bears (formally known at the Dutchess County Bears) is an organization that began in 2011.  Our home field is located at Memorial Field in Beacon, N.Y. and we serve the Semi-Pro community in Dutchess/Orange/Ulster/Rockland/Sullivan/Westchester and surrounding counties.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to provide an organized, quality football team to the area we serve.  We provide an opportunity for local athletes to continue their playing careers beyond their scholastic career. Our goal is to present, develop and maintain a high quality Minor League Football program that will foster an extraordinary level of integrity, sportsmanship, respect and community involvement.

Our goal is to enhance the community through entertainment, services and community outreach. The participants in our program are expected to illustrate productive attitudes and healthy regiments; as well as exude pride, determination, respect and quality in everything on and off the field.

As a 100% volunteer organization, our goal is to provide positive role models to the youth and young adults in the community and to give back to the communities that support us through volunteer programs.

Our Vision

The Vision of the Dutchess County Bears is to bring high quality, competitive football back to this area. Our home games promise to bring excitement, fun, sportsmanship and entertainment to the spectators of all ages and to bring the sport of football back into prominence in the City of Beacon and surrounding towns.

Community Outreach Projects

The Beacon Pop Warner Football League is sponsoring the team and we are looking to foster a big brother program for them. The City of Beacon has allowed Beacon Pop Warner League to allow us the  use their field and field house, therefore making Memorial Field our Home Field.

We look forward to being a positive role models for the youth!
