About the Danbury Pirates

The Danbury PIRATES made incredible strides in just their second season in the Bridgeport Senior City League.  After posting a

2-26 record during the 2014, the Pirates improved to 19-9 during their second voyage through the league.  The Pirates were able to increase their league win total by 17 as returning players stepped up their games along with some notable performances by new Pirates.  Going from last place to second place in a league as tough as the BSCL is quite an accomplishment.  Coach Jon Jacobs seemed to press the right buttons all summer long as the Pirates won many close games.

The Pirate pitching staff was once again their strong suit as Will and Jackson Aldam, Colin Keyes, Rob Cocuzzo, Neil Abbatiello, and the rest of the staff turned in outstanding performances throughout the summer.  The biggest performance on the mound may have been when Colin Keyes and Jackson Aldam combined to shutout the Barons for the Pirates 19th win.  Keyes tossed 6 strong innings, then Jackson came in and struck out two batters in teh seventh inning to earn the save.  The Pirate staff recorded 4 shutouts this summer.
