About the Thurston County Saints
FORMATION:
The Thurston County (TC) Saints were formed in 2010 by Michael “Whitey” Spencer. The original team members included Jayden Croft, Mitch Fettig, Ryan Jones, Brennon Kaleiwahea, Matthew Mercer, Blake Nystrom, Tony Ortiz, Devon Quitugua, Bailey Smith, Jackson Spencer, Ian Sugrue, and Dylan Wharton.
 
In their first year of existence, the TC Saints established themselves as one of the top baseball teams in the Northwest.
 
2010 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 6 Championships including:
  • Fall Classic Field of Dreams, Redding, CA
  • USSSA State and Regionals, WA
  • Triple Crown 4th of July, Tacoma, WA
  • 5th place finish Triple Crown World Series, Steamboat Springs, CO
2011 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 7 Championships including:
  • Arizona Fall Classic
  • USSSA State and Regionals, WA
  • Triple Crown Memorial and 4th of July, Tacoma, WA
  • 4th Place finish Triple Crown World Series, Denver, CO
2012 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 5 Championships including:
  • World Series Championships, San Diego, CA
  • Marucci Wood Bat Invitational, Centralia, WA
  • USSSA State and Regionals, Steilacoom, WA
  • 2  players signed college scholorships
2013 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • TC Saints join forces with Aquafina Baseball and expanded to four teams; 13U, 16U, 18U, 18U to further cement itself as one of the premier baseball organizations in the Northwest.
  • 13 players signed college scholorships
2014 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 14u won the USABF World Series in San Diego, CA
  • Collectively won 11 titles
  • 7 players signed college scholarships
2015 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Expanded to 6 teams (12u, 13u, 14u, 15u, 16u, 18u)
  • Collectively won 11 titles
  • 15 players signed college scholorships
2016 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Opened the TC SAINTS indoor facility in Lacey
  • Collectively won 10 titles
  • 8 players signed college scholorships

 

2017 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Added softball team
  • Acquired the TC SAINTS team van
  • Collectively won 9 titles
  • 10 players signed college scholarships

2018 HIGHLIGHTS:

  • 12 college baseball scholarships
  • 23 alumni on college rosters
  • 7 tournament championships
  • Alumni Matt Mercer drafted in the 5th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Alumni Brennon Kaleiwahea signed with the Chicago Cubs
  • 2 alumni, Jairus Richards, Cal State Fullerton and Brennon Kaleiwahea, Tennessee Tech played in the 2018 NCAA Super Regionals.
  • Saints head softball coach, Nichole Schroeder becomes a grad assistant coach for the University of Texas Longhorns.
