About the TeamQUEST TRACK CLUB

Team QUEST is a Track and Field Club designed to enhance youth performance at all levels and reinforce core family values. 

 

 

The coaching staff includes certified trainers and experienced volunteers with several years of experience coaching, and directing the activities of youth in the arena of track and field. Team QUEST's training philosophy consist of the following guidelines designed to meet the needs of diverse participants:

 

  • Beginners
    • Beginners are typically defined as first time track participants. Their regiment will be conducted at a modest pace to ensure they are fully educated on the basics of track and field.
  • Intermediate
    • Intermediate athletes are defined as participants with some track experience. Their regiment will consist of core track and field training to compete at a high level.
  • Advanced
    • Advanced athletes have several years of track experience and their regiment will consist of a multitude of activities if they enroll in the advance program. See Advance Program for more details.

 

 

REGULAR Summer Track Program:

 

Program Description:

  • Team QUEST Summer Program is a multi-level structured program for youth at all levels, ages 6 to 18, with emphasis on overall education and training, relative to Track and Field
Practice:
  • The regular Summer Track program  will train 4 days a week in Allen at the Lowery Freshman Center, located at 601 Main Street, Allen Texas or Plano Senior High School Located at 2200 Independence Parkway, Plano Texas. Times/days may vary depending upon the track practice location. Please check the website calendar regularly for specific dates and location. 

Weekly Competition:

  • Athletes will be given the opportunity to participate in local meets on Saturdays in the DFW area.  See schedule for more details. 

  • All of our athletes will participate in the following associations:

    1.     Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)

    2.     USATF

    3.     Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF)

Track Rules And Regulations:

  • No pets allowed at the facility
  • No tobacco, alcohol or fire arms allowed at the facility
  • No food or beverage, other than water is allowed on the track or field
  • All water bottles must be disposed of prior to departing. Nothing can be left on the track, field or in the stands
  • No bicycles or baby strollers on the track

Cost of Program:

  • The cost of the regular Summer Track program is $250 for all ages, which includes a uniform and District fees for one affiliation.
  • Participants will pay their own entry fee for track meets, typically $3.00-$5.00 per meet

 

 

Advanced Program:

 

Program Description:

  • The Advanced Training Program is an 8 month structured program for athletes, ages 14 to 18, with emphasis on strength, conditioning, technique, and overall track knowledge.

Program Specifics:

  • An initial consultation will be conducted with each athlete to develop goals and ensure the overall training is consistent with attaining desired results. Additionally, training will be designed to augment training received from other programs such as school. Non-track athletes are welcome to participate in the program, but their training could differ from that of track athletes

Practice:

  • The training will commence the beginning of May and conclude mid August for the summer track season
  • Training for the indoor season will commence the beginning of October and conclude at the end of January.
  • The core training will consist of the following activities:
  • Weight Lifting
  • Technique Drills
  • Aqua Training
  • Resistance Training (sleds, parachutes, elastic bands, etc.)
  • Block Starts
  • Proper stretching
  • Proper warm up /down – Pre and Post event
  • Proper Nutrition - Pre and Post event
  • Proper hydration -Pre and Post event
  • Proper Rest -Pre and Post event
  • College Readiness (NAIA/NCAA clearance material) and Seminars

Event Participation: 

  • Athletes will participate in AAU, TAAF, and USA events based on location and level of competition; however, AAU will be the primary focus. In the event an athlete does not qualify for the Junior Olympics, they will be given the opportunity to participate in the TAAF Summer Games of Texas, if they qualify.

Cost: of Program:

  • All Athletes must participate in fund raisers to cover travel cost associated with competition
  • Proceeds from fund raising activities will be used to cover travel to Junior Olympics and/or Summer Games of Texas
  • The Advanced Program cost is $450, which includes a uniform
  • The cost of the program includes facility usage
  • Participants will pay their own entry fee for track meets, typically $3.00-$5.00 per meet
