About the Teshua Basketball Tournament
Teshua Basketball Tournament

Teshua Basketball Tournament was created on the premise of wanting to bring more competitive semi-pro basketball teams together to play and be rewarded for their efforts.

Very seldom do we see semi-pro teams coming together during the Spring/Summer in a tournament format.

Well now the wait is over.

Teshua Basketball Tournament has partnered with the American Basketball Association to bring to you a tournament that will be played nationally with its unique rules and style of play.  Also official ABA referees will be on hand to offficiate these games as well.

Currently there are 4 regions that will be showcased this year.

The regions that are listed are areas that have shown interest in recent weeks:

Southwest Region

South Region:

Midwest Region:

Kentucky

Southeast Region:

ALL FUNDS SHOULD BE TURNED IN BY MAY 7th!

Rules of each tournament game:

  • 24 minutes per half (running clock) of high paced action.
  • The clock stops after a dead ball under 4 minutes of each half.
  • Half-Court violation: 7 seconds opposed to 8 seconds to get across the half-court line. If a team is not successful in getting over the half-court line within 7 seconds it results in a turnover which initiates the 3D light.
  • When the 3D Light is on: 2 pt. shots = 3 pts. | 3 pt. shots = 4 pts. |                                 a half-court shot = 5 pts.
  • There also will be a 4 point shot available on 3 positions in the front court.
  • (6) Six Fouls leads to a technical foul and the ball | a player during the tournament cannot foul out of the game, but after six fouls it results in a technical (1 shot) and the opposing team gets the ball. The team that has the player with six fouls has the choice to keep that player in the game or take him out due to the fact that if he fouls again they would receive not only the foul but also a technical foul.
  • Teams will have 5 fouls each half before placed in the penalty.  If a team is not in the penalty in the last 2 minutes of the half, they will have 1 foul to give.  After that 1 foul under 2 minutes, the team will be in the penatly til the end of the game.
  • If an overtime occurs, there will be a 2 minute quarter played.  If there is a double overtime, there will be no time left on the clock and the first team that scores 2 points wins the game.
  • This tournament is a 2 game guarantee.  The first game will be a pool game to determine seeding for the remaining of the tournament.  After the pool game that starts on the 14th of May, the seeding will be posted on the 16th of May and the first round will begin on the 21st of May in a single game elimination in their respective regions.  Higher seeds will host games in their respected facilities.
  • The final 4 teams standing (Regional Champions) will play the semifinals in Houston, TX. this year.
  • Every game must have a 24 second shot clock.
