Building a Championship Program

 

Tesoro Titan Girls Soccer integrates the educational, social and athletic objectives of the Capistrano Unified School District, Tesoro High School, and its Athletic Department with the goals of the California Interscholastic Federation.

 

PHILOSOPHY

 

The Tesoro Girls Soccer Program Head Coach and  coaches are dedicated to provide a positive athletic environment in which the passion, skills and discipline of soccer can be taught.  We believe that soccer is a vehicle that enables our players to develop self-confidence, sportsmanship, self-discipline, commitment and a sense of teamwork that will help them to become successful citizens on and off the field.

 

It is important that we maintain our focus in providing a program that first develops quality student athletes and second develops quality soccer player.  The Titan girls soccer program will strive to provide the best coaches, equipment and instructional expertise to achieve both personal fulfillment and success for all our girls soccer teams.

Soccer helps develop four important traits or qualities that are vital to the success of our student athletes

DESIRE is the intense wish or longing to succeed.

DEDICATION is the ability and drive to achieve what one starts.

DISCIPLINE is to stay in control of oneself, and remain poised in challenging situations.

DETERMINATION is the ability to make decisions, to stay focused on one’s task, and realize it always takes hard work to win!

 

GOALS

 

To bring individuals together, maximizing their abilities for the benefit of team performance.  At the same time we must also minimize individual weaknesses through a cooperative team strategy in which teammates complement and compensate for each other.  By doing this we will develop the talents of the players, maintaining a championship program and at the same time building long-term relationships.

 

What does it take to be a Champion?

 

Teamwork - Develop a strong feeling of pride within yourself as a member of Tesoro High School Girls’ Soccer.

Leadership – Stepping forward to influence others and control situations, leading by example.  Leaders show a great positive attitude and are always ready to help a teammate.

Mental Toughness – Hanging tough in difficult situations, recovering from setbacks, accepting criticism with character to rebound.

Commitment – Never cheat yourself.  Always give all of yourself.  Have a “never give up attitude.”

Conditioning – We must take pride in the condition we are in.  We must strive to be stronger, faster and in better shape than our opponents.

Loyalty – Always stand behind your teammates and coaches.  Speak positively and be proud of the Lady Titan’s Soccer program.
