About the West Lincoln Lady Rebels

West Lincoln High School opened up in the fall of 1961 as a merger between the two communities of Northbrook and Union.  The school is located at the intersection of Highway 27 and Shoal Road about 9 miles west of the Court Square in Lincolnton.  The school enrollment is generally between 700 and 900 students, occasionally reaching close to 1000 students, placing West Lincoln in the Catawba Valley AA Conference.

West Lincoln Softball began in the spring of 1962.  West Lincoln played slow-pitch from the 1962 season until the mid 1990's, when the NCHSAA transitioned from a slow-pitch sport to a fast-pitch sport to mirror the growing support softball was gaining nationwide.  The Lady Rebel's experienced tremendous success during the 1990's, winning several conference championships ('90 '91, '92. '95, and '96).  The highlight of the slow-pitch era came in 1992 with a Regional Championship and State Runner-uo finish.

The school has experienced similiar success as the game has transitioned to fast-pitch..  The first fast-pitch championship came in 2010, followed by a four-peat from 2014-17.  This four year stretch saw the Lady Rebels win both Conference Championships and Conference Tournament Championships; as well as, back to back Regional appearances.  Again the highlight of the program came in 2016 with yet another Regional Championship and State Runner-up finish.
