Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 – 10:47 AM
SAN DIEGO – Team AA secured a hard-fought 56-45 victory over Jimmy Time, with Abed Abusaleh leading the charge, dropping 18 points. Kion Gould, proving that warm-ups are overrated, put up an impressive 17 points. Stephen Hatt chipped in with 12 points, while Tushar Menon dominated the paint for 8. Max Pugh contributed 4 points, and Steve Schneider, a rebounding machine, added 8 points of his own.
Jimmy Time battled fiercely, with Igor Nesterenko tallying 13 points. The Neil brothers, Jimmy and Mike, each added 9 points, keeping their squad within striking distance. Keith Devore was deadly from deep, sinking three triples, while Steve Yudenfreund rounded out the scoring with 5 points.
Team Silverman 57, Team Schuster 43
Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 – 10:47 AM
Ken Hayes led the charge with a team-high 13 points showing that he's a legit MVP candidate --once his Tylenol kicks in and his calf pain subsides. Bern McGovern found his stroke, sinking three treys en route to an 11-point performance. Josh Kawaii and Bo Reed each poured in 10 points, while returning captain Andy Silverman made his presence felt with 9 points. Defensive anchors Dave Haas and Tim Mills tallied 2 points each with their focus on facilitating the offense and locking down the opposition on defense rounding out Silverman’s well-rounded team win.
Mike Stein did everything he could for Team Schuster, netting 18 points. Captain Fred Schuster backed him up with 10 points, while Yohan Collure was a defensive menace, grabbing steals throughout the game that led to fast break points leading to his 7 points. Bryce Dixon and Randy Satterburg added 4 points apiece while making key defensive plays and crashing the boards.
Team J-Mo 64, Renner Bros 36
Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 – 10:47 AM
In the night’s most electrifying performance, Mo Hamidi stepped in for the absent Jeff Morris and put on a scoring clinic, torching the Renner Bros for 32 points in Team J-Mo’s dominant 64-36 win. Brent Zambon solidified his status as the league’s top passer, dishing out highlight-reel assists while adding 11 points of his own. The recently traded Pat Rost contributed 10 points in what felt like a statement game by Rost showing the league he’s a legit offensive threat. Defensive stalwarts Rob Sharp and KP Popovic combined for 6 points and clamped down on the opposition.
However, the night belonged to Alex Wu, a substitute who had the crowd roaring with his hustle, sharp shooting, and relentless movement. Wu found his rhythm early, draining a deep three, and continued to dazzle with his high-energy defense and expert off-ball play. The game’s defining moment came when Hamidi, Wu, and Zambon executed a dazzling offensive weave, culminating in a flashy behind-the-back dish from Zambon to Wu for an easy layup. The fans erupted.
The Renner Bros struggled to keep pace, with James Renner leading the team with 12 points. Mike Renner, last week’s Player of the Week, followed up with 11 points, while Phil Vacheron added 8 points. Shaun Lucas was a clear standout in the paint with several hustle plays and highlight reel rebounds flying across the court to secure the board for his team. Lucas, who may be the league’s best rebounder, contributed 7 points in his excellent night.
Looking Ahead
As Week 3 wraps up, the league is heating up with standout performances and rising stars. Will Alex Wu’s hustle become a permanent fixture? Can Team Silverman ride Hayes’ leadership to a title run? Stay tuned for more action-packed coverage next week.

Rasta, Nimo, Kong, ‘Merica eject into Win column in Week 3
5:15 PM – Rasta 92, Showtime 75
Rasta versus Showtime was a high-scoring matchup between two of the leagues most talented teams. Rasta were led by Alex Wade who had a performance for the ages leading to player of the week honors. Wade dominated, dropping 47 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists, showing us all that he’s no hunchback and is a legit Division-1 Athlete hailing from the mighty Notre Dame. Mike Reardon had an outstanding game with a TSP of 37 with 19 points, and 13 rebounds for his regular double double. Matt Weinberg was unstoppable (again) and lit up the field from beyond the arc with 5 three-pointers leading to his total scoring productivity of 30. Itai Hirsch & Anton Moskalenko chipped in with TSP’s of 18 and 13 respectively rounding out Rasta’s stellar performance. Rasta appears to be more type-A than their team name appears, they win in an entertaining one, even without our beloved Stijn de Jong, 92 to 75.
Showtime were without their fearless leader, Lance Moore due to a prior engagement. The Show were also without star-forwards Sasha Gustin and Travon Brown.
Calvin Fowler led the charge in the second game of his Michael Jordan esque return. “The Sniper” lived up to his team-name by putting on a show despite being without much of his supporting cast dropping a whopping 43 points including 6 three-pointers along with 6 rebounds. Stepping in admirably for the team’s enforcers on sick leave -- was our very-own enforcer, Jay Gonzalez. Gonzalez did his best Mojo-Man-Moore impression grabbing an eye-popping 23-rebounds and he also added 10 points en route to his double-double. Marc Mueseler had an untraditional double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Daniel Carey was letting it fly from downtown and chipped in 12 points of his own. Showtime held their own all things considered – but move to 1-2 in Week 3.
6:15 PM – Nimo 83, Jolly 80
For Team Nimo, Nick Diciaula led the charge with 23 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists leading to his TSP of 50. Jordan Mole scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and contributed 5 assists. Benji Phillips had a TSP of 43 with 19 points, 16 rebounds padding his league lead along with 8 assists. Arley Gonzalez returned from a one-week absence and scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Gonzalez was also 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Chris Gardinier had a stellar night with multiple putback buckets along with a highly skilled three-pointer.
For Team Jolly, Ali Nayab was leading scorer and was unconscious from beyond the arc hitting a league-record 10 three-pointers leading to his TSP of 48. The MVP front-runner scored 35 points and grabbed 10 boards for his weekly double-double. Tony Johnson was locked in as well narrowly missing a triple-double with 22 points, 23 rebounds and 8 assists for a TSP of 53! James Renner was ejecting three-after-three into the back of the net leading to his double-double. The vastly underrated veteran scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Neema Mohseni is apparently still recovering from his birthday weekend and had a quiet night with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. In a nail biter, Nimo sneaks past Jolly, 83-80.
7:15 PM – Kong 58, Sonic 54
For Team Kong James Bakhit was leading scorer with 15 points. He also added 11 rebounds and 4 assists for a TSP of 30. Danny "Rizman" Reilly contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds along with 7 assists in this defensive battle. Bittensor's own, Keith Singery returned from the injured list with a strong TSO of 25 with his 8 points, 10 boards and 7 assists. Thair Daoud was a key contributor in all phases with his pesky defense along with contributing timely buckets and ultimate TSP of 18. Billy LaFortune was bruising through opponents grabbing 7 boards and dropped 4 dimes. Umit Suri did everything well in Week 3 and produced a TSP of 20. Suri is maturing into a beast in the paint, and he grabbed 10 rebounds. Jordan Shimizu scored 6 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and divvied out 5 assists.
For Team Sonic, Moe Hamidi was leading scorer with 15 points in what was a quiet night for the team. Hamidi also grabbed 14 rebounds. Sergey Volkov was their no. 2 scorer with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Michael Stein finally tapered off from his hot streak and shockingly only scored 4 points. Conrad Tucker grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded 5 assists. Mason Tucker scored 11 points and had a TSP of 23 including 8 rebounds. James Cox lived up to his nickname as Big James grabbing a Ben Wallace-like 18 rebounds.
8:15 PM – ‘Merica 72, Dood 56
Team America were led by Garrett Pagon and Abdullah Ahamed in Week 3. Both were clear standouts for the team leading to their 16-point victory -- begging the question as to whether they're the league's version of "Shake-N-Bake" from Talladega Nights. Both of the stars were clicking on all cylinders, and the vibes were high to say the least. Ahamed dropped 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for a TSP of 46. The star guard was patient and let the game come to him and he found the passing lane and scoring opportunities all night. Pagon was an animal -- and obviously fired up in his return from the inauguration. Captain America grabbed a record-breaking 26 rebounds! He could not be stopped. Pagon was possessed and ultimately recorded a final scoring output of 56 on 22 points, 8 assists and the 26 boards. Alex Zalkin was moving-and-grooving and recorded a TSP of 14 and is proving to be one of the league's elite perimeter defenders and craftiest players with several clever ball fakes leading to scoring opportunities. James "Edgar Allen" Poet was a spark of energy once again for the team with several rebounds and tips to his teammates leading to his fantastic night. Trevor Roe finally scored -- he had 8 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists for his handsome TSP of 28. The well-rounded and good-looking Team America earn the W in Week 3, 72 to 56.
For Team Dood, they were less Lebowski in this one missing their mojo seemingly without stud star forward, Matthew Dart. Hayden Lescault put on a show nonetheless with a team-high 18 points and 13 rebounds for his double-double and TSP of 39. He also contributed a highlight reel block on Bay Club Media's own -- who shall not be named and he claims it was a total fluke. Ben Stoodley was a force to be reckoned with per usual with his TSP of 28 including 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Nick Dove couldn't find it after hitting the weights too heavily pre-game and had an uncharacteristically quiet night with 4 points -- though he did snatch 10 rebounds and still produced an honorable TSP of 17. Jamie Smith was channeling his college days and he wet multiple threes leading to his 13 points. Smith who's a proud Bay Club member also grabbed 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the year. "You know, as a member of the Bay Club you're just a little more proud than usual, it gave me a little more pep in my step, I think that's ultimately what led me to my first double-double tonight," said Smith postgame. Adrian Doty played excellent defense and had 16 for his total scoring productivity. Michael Carey played his role valiantly and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Smith having the juice, it wasn't enough for Team Dood in this one -- they move to 2-1, 72 to 56.

Mike Neil found his groove and contributed 8 points and was defensive menace for Team Jimmy Time. 5:15 PM - Team Nimo 64, Team America 37
Team Nimo put on a clinic in the 5:15 game with a 64-37 win over Team America, fully showcasing their explosiveness on offense and brick-wall-like defense along with their elite-level rebounding capabilities. Nick Diciaula was the standout, posting a game-high 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists, finishing with an outstanding TSP of 47. Diciaula flashed all over the court, making plays at both ends exemplifying why he’s one of the league’s perennial MVP candidates. Brett Foley had an incredible all-around game, contributing 12 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists for a TSP of 31. Jordan Mole was a force on both ends as always with 14 rebounds and 15 points including multiple beautiful swish threes. For Team America, Abdullah Ahamed was their standout player, finishing with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. The star guard did his best to keep his team in it but ultimately America was no match -- for Nimo’s depth -- without Team Leader, Garrett Pagon. Alex Zalkin facilitated the offense effectively, leading the team with 7 assists, 2 rebounds and 8 points alongside an immense display of toughness battling with Nimo’s toughest defenders throughout the game. Avi Fogel was clearly hobbled but still managed to grab 8 rebounds and chip in 4 assists. Andy Kirkpatrick was a beast in the paint, grabbing 13 rebounds along with 1 assist and impacted the game even without many shot opportunities. James Poet grabbed 10 rebounds and added 4 points and provided multiple sparks of energy for his team that led to near comebacks in this tough matchup. Trevor Roe chipped in 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The silver lining for Team America in this one is that they managed to cut the lead to 13 in the second half before letting the game slip away, woo hoo. Nimo 64, America 37.
6:15 PM - Team Showtime 71, Team Sonic 70 – OT*
In what might be the game of the season thus far, Team Showtime snuck out a dramatic overtime win in this primetime thriller. Lance Moore was prolific, finishing with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists, earning a TSP of 52. Although this stat line led all scorers for Week 2 TSPs, it seemed almost routine and casual for the reigning MVP. Our Bay Club Media Insiders believe that we’ll see Total Scoring Productivity well beyond 52 from Moore this season and this wasn’t even him at his best. Watch out. Calvin Fowler returned from a brief retirement possibly after dabbling as a minor-league baseball player with the Chicago White Sox. The lefty sniper made easy work of his opponents in the paint and on the glass with his 15 points and 15 rebounds for a TSP of 31 -- in Game 1 of his Michael Jordan-like return. Travon Brown added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists and swished an electric late game 3-pointer helping his team to the win in what was one of the game’s biggest moments. “I’ll never shy away, I’m Travon babyyy,” said the star forward post-game. Marc Mueseler is showing to be a fine addition to Team Showtime’s formidable duo with his total scoring output of 17. Daniel Carey contributed 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a clutch three while Rob Sharp patrolled the court on both ends and produced 3 rebounds, 1 assist and elite-level defense. Showtime’s toughness and resiliency were on full display in this back-and-forth contest, they win in overtime, 71 to 70.
Team Sonic’s Sergey Volkov was a monster on both ends, posting 21 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists, finishing with an outstanding total output of 41. Volkov nearly led his team to victory with his double-double before being confused on who had the lead in overtime that led to a last second prayer three pointer from one of his teammates. Moe Hamidi was also spectacular, contributing 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists, proving he has the ability to take over a game when needed. Mike Stein was unconscious from beyond the arc with 19 points and 6 rebounds, giving Team Sonic another reliable scoring option. Conrad Tucker posted a double-double with 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, earning a TSP of 24. Mason Tucker’s been a force on the glass in back-to-back weeks and finished with 10 rebounds. James Cox rounded out the team with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist while Eric Marlin chipped in 5 rebounds and 3 assists in limited time. This Week 2 thriller could have gone either way but it’s Sonic that moves to 0-2, Showtime 71, Sonic 70.

Team Dood secured a solid 68-52 victory over Team Jolly, thanks to stellar performances from their key players. For Team Jolly, Birthday Boy, Neema Mohseni had a solid outing with 17 points, 10 boards, and 3 assists. Ali Nayab was the other star of the night for Jolly, adding 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 dimes. Nate “The Spanish Missile” Martinez contributed 9 points, snatched 7 boards, and dished 3 assists, while Bo “The Ukrainian Sensation” Mazhar posted grabbed 9 rebounds, along with 3 assists for a commendable TSP of 15. James Renner helped facilitate the offense and added 8 points including a couple swoosh threes along with 7 rebounds. John Fusca finished with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Jolly was shorthanded without Tony Johnson; they were competitive but ultimately take the loss in Week 2. Dood 68, Jolly 52.
8:15 PM - Team Kong 51, Team Rasta 84
Team Rasta defeated Team Kong 84-51 in the night cap. Stijn de Jong was outstanding, finishing with 23 points, 8 rebounds, for a TSP of 32 and he had to perform well because his girlfriend was watching. The star forward’s scoring on and off the court helped lead his team to victory in Week 2. Alex Wade also put up a great performance, contributing 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. Mike Reardon added 15 points, 9 rebounds for an all-star like TSP of 25, while Mr. Good at Everything, Matt Weinberg finished with 14 points on an insane stretch of consecutive three-pointers showing that he also loves to score. Carmel Valley’s no.1 realtor and fiancé, Trent Cady added 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists for a TSP of 15, showcasing his versatility in the well-rounded team effort. Rasta is showing to be unstoppable because of their elite-level ball movement -- with each and every one of their players having the ability to score 20 on any given night.
For Team Kong, Keith Singery and James Bakhit were out on sick leave. Danny Reilly was the lone ranger in Week 2 and was the standout for Kong with his 18 points and 11 rebounds, finishing with the elite TSP of 29. Thair Daoud added 8 points, 7 rebounds, and played rock hard defense. Umit Suri contributed 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Billy LaFortune and Jordan Shimizu each made an impact with their passing and rebounding though they didn’t see many shot opportunities. Team Kong wasn’t at full strength, so we’re not worried about them quite yet. Rasta 84, Kong 51.

Nick and Jordan romped last week without baby Gronk while Garrett and Avi limped to the finish line over a depleted Sergey squad. Can Andy "I'm not really injured" K recapture his old magic with Benji pushing him all around the court? I don't think he can. Thursday League – Week 1 Recap
By Trevor Roe | Bay Club Basketball News
Published: January 16, 2025
The Bay Club Basketball League’s Thursday night opener brought the heat with thrilling
performances, breakout moments, and plenty of intrigue. Week 1 was a statement night for some
teams, while others are already searching for answers.
5:30 PM – J-Mo 56, Jimmy Time 45
The first game of the evening saw Team J-Mo flex their depth to secure a 56–45 victory over
Team Jimmy Time. J-Mo’s offense was powered by a balanced attack, with Jeff Morris and
Brent Zambon leading the way with 14 points apiece. Eric Vester chipped in 8 points, while Rob
Sharp and KP Popovic combined for 10 gritty points. Mid-game heroics came from James
Renner, subbing in and dropping a quick-fire 10 points to help close out the win.
Team Jimmy Time showed flashes of brilliance but couldn’t overcome J-Mo’s relentless pace.
Keith Devore and Steve Yudenfreund were the driving forces with 12 points each, but the
supporting cast struggled to keep pace. Jimmy and Mike Neil added 6 points each, while Igor
Nesterenko contributed 5 points in the loss. The chemistry is there for Jimmy Time, but
adjustments are needed.
6:30 PM – Silverman 41, Renner Bros 37
This low-scoring slugfest came down to the wire, with Team Silverman grinding out a hard-
earned 41–37 win over the Renner Bros. Ken Hayes and Bo Reed led the charge for Silverman,
combining for 15 points, while Josh Kawaii and Dave Haas chipped in 12 crucial points between
them. Bern McGovern’s hustle play and 5 points proved vital in keeping Silverman ahead.
For the Renner Bros, it was a tale of two standout performances. Mike Renner and his brother
James each poured in 14 points, carrying their team on their shoulders. However, they struggled
to find consistent contributions from the supporting cast. Raul Navarro (2 points), Carl Grubb (4
points), and Phil Vacheron (3 points) couldn’t break through Silverman’s disciplined defense.
The Renner Bros came close, but not close enough.
7:30 PM – Double-A 65, Team Schuster 40
The nightcap was all Double-A, as they dominated Team Schuster in a commanding 65–40 win.
Kion Gould was unstoppable, lighting up the scoreboard with 21 points. Abed Absusaleh was
deadly from downtown, draining four three-pointers en route to 14 points. Tushar Menon
showed why he’s one to watch, delivering a breakout performance with 10 points, while Stephen
Hatt added 11 points to the tally. Even Max Pugh and Steve Schneider got in on the action,
combining for 10 points to round out the team effort.
Team Schuster, missing their captain Fred Schuster, had a tough time keeping up. Mike Stein led
the charge with 16 points, while Pat Rost added 9 points. Bryce Dixon and Yohan Collure fought
hard, scoring 6 and 7 points, respectively, but the team’s offense stalled against Double-A’s
suffocating defense. Brad Mitchell contributed 2 points, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
Week 1 Takeaways:
• Team J-Mo looks dangerous with their depth and ability to share the scoring load.
• Team Silverman’s grind-it-out style might not be flashy, but it gets results.
• Double-A has officially put the league on notice with their explosive offense.
• Team Schuster and Jimmy Time will need to regroup quickly to avoid falling behind in
the standings.
Week 1 is in the books—who will rise to the occasion in Week 2? Stay tuned for more action!

Nimo, America, Kong, Dood announce their presence with AUTHORITY, victorious on Opening Night
5:15 PM GAME: NIMO 88, SHOWTIME 60
In what might be Showtime’s only loss of the season, their team of superstars were out on leave and unfortunately forfeited to Team Nimo. Nonetheless, Nimo appeared to be very strong swimmers in Week 1 and our insiders believe they’ll be one of the league’s best and in the hunt for a Bay Club Title. Nimo were led by Jordan Mole and Benji Phillips who both scored 24 points. EVP, Nick Diciaula wasn’t far behind with a phenomenal night scoring 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists and tremendous leadership. Mole and Phillips were both in double digits on the glass with 12 and 13 rebounds, respectively. Arley Gonzalez was shaking off the rust in his return from paternity leave and produced a solid TSP of 19. Mo Correia appears to be one of the league’s sleepers after his breakout performance producing a TSP of 26. The replacements for Team Showtime fought honorably but Nimo’s wake swept them away easily. Nimo 88, Showtime 60.
6:15 PM GAME: AMERICA 69, SONIC 59
In a showcase of extreme talents and mental fortitude from both sides Team America survived a ferocious comeback from Team Sonic. Team America were led by United States Americans, Garrett Pagon and Avi Fogel who both had outstanding nights. Pagon collected a TSP of 33 on 21 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Fogel was unbelievable from beyond the arc, scoring 22 points on 7 three-pointers. Abdullah Ahamed had his usual all-star performance amassing a TSP of 25 with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Andy Kirkpatrick returned from brief retirement with a burning desire to lead his team to at least one-more league championship. The future first ballot Hall of Famer scored 11 points, collected 7 rebounds and passed out 6 assists. James Poet showed to be the team’s enforcer and quickly made an impact grabbing rebound after rebound for America. Poet ended the night with 8 rebounds and 3 assists in his sparkling debut. Alex Zalkin immediately entered the conversation as the league’s best passer -- in his own debut -- and dropped countless dimes mustering the question of if he once played quarterback?! Despite not a whole lot from the team’s draft extraordinaire & vibes man, Trevor Roe, America still rolled. Team America 69, Sonic 59.
Sonic were led by U.S.S.Sergey Volkov who played a lot like Ivan Drago from Rocky with his bruising style of play. Volkov produced an excellent TSP of 35 on 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Mason Tucker returned to action with a stellar performance and TSP of 25. Tucker hit 4 threes, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 5 dimes. Mike Stein was unbelievable from three-point range and hit several leading to his 9 points. Eric Marlin also hit a pair of daggers from well beyond the distance to lead his team all the way back from their first half deficit. Sonic were without first-round pick, Moe Hamidi while James Cox was returning from injury, otherwise this one may have gone a different way. Sonic appears to be a real threat in Winter ’25. Watch out.
7:15 PM GAME: KONG 86, JOLLY 76
Team Kong were victorious in Week 1 and fought off an unbelievable comeback from Jolly. Kong were led by James Bakhit who was absolutely unconscious in the first half en route to his 21-point night. Danny Riley was also unstoppable scoring 18 points along with snatching 9 boards and dropping 9 assists. Keith Singery had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Umit Suri was letting it rip chipping in 13 points of his own while collecting 6 rebounds. Thair Daoud was outstanding with 12 points and hit multiple threes. Billy LaFortune made his debut and flexed his muscle with several punishing box outs and screens. Donkey Kong appeared to be more like King Kong in Week 1, stay tuned.
Team Jolly found themselves chasing 20 at the half when team leader, James Renner left due to cramping. Shortly after Renner’s departure, superstar, Tony Johnson badly rolled his ankle – leaving Team Captain and perennial MVP candidate, Ali Nayab without two of his most crucial pieces. Nayab didn’t back down without his fellow-star running mates, he bucked up, he got better, he simply began dominating. The reigning Wingman of the Year began draining three-after-three leading his team all the way back from their 20-point deficit. Nayab netted 8 threes ultimately leading to his 28 points. He also secured 12 rebounds and dropped 10 assists for the league’s first triple double of the season. Neema Mohseni played an excellent supporting role and scored 19 points. Tony Johnson scored 15 points and nabbed 10 rebounds in a slightly over one half of play. Team Jolly appears lethal – though they came up short in this one, Kong 86, Jolly 76.
8:15 PM GAME: DOOD 66, RASTA 61
Team Dood showed off their muscle and high IQ in Week 1 with their win over the Rastafarians. Dood were led by Rookie of the Year favorite, Hayden Lescault who scored 19 points on several threes. Ben Stoodley and Nick Dove chipped in 12 points – and Dove hit two crucial three pointers late in the second half to clinch the victory. Matt Dart returned to action and had the team clicking on all cylinders with his outstanding performance and leadership skills. Dart nearly amassed a triple-double scoring 10 points, grabbing 10 boards and dishing 6 assists. “I’m back,” said the superstar forward. Team Dood appears to be legitimate title contenders after this Week 1 performance, they win by 5.
Rasta were led by Alex Wade who took his talents from Notre Dame to the more talented Bay Club Basketball League. Wade sped past defenders throughout the night for his 19 points. He also grabbed 11 rebounds and produced 6 assists. Stijn de Jong and Itai Hirsch both produced dominant TSPs of 28. De Jong scored 13 points, collected 9 rebounds and dished 6 assists. Hirsch scored 9 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had 7 assists proving the rumors of him being a Bay Club Ilgauskas to be eerily true. This matchup could have gone either way and both teams appear to be at the front-end of the league. Rasta 61, Dood 66.

Lance & Miguel vs Ali & Tony @ 6:15
Despite Ali's descent into old age starting to pick up speed, Tony, Ali & Neema have righted the ship and won 4 out of the last 5. Add to that James Renner's history of showing up in big games, and this might be the upset of the season. However, if Miguel does his Willis Reed impression and is back on the court, Showtime will be tough (impossible ) to stop. Lance "Big Shot Bob" Moore minus 11.5
Garrett & Sagie vs Avi & Alex @ 7:15
Garrett and his merry band of misfits have been hot and cold the past month - some impressive and some not so much. Reddit has several threads suggesting Garrett is done as a core as he has fallen out of the top ten in all 3 categories - scoring, assists and rebounds. Tough reality for the former top 3 bay club player. Avi & Alex conversely are riding high heading into the playoffs on Trevor's broad shoulders - (and Avi & Alex's 50 points per game). Team A2 minus 15.5

Showtime, JAM, FoCho, GAS Get What They Wanted, Advance to Next Round of Playoffs
5:15 PM Game: Team Showtime 66, Team Dolla 65
This Round 1 thriller will go down as one of the most exciting -- if not hands down the most exciting matchup in Bay Club Hoop's history. It was a back-and-forth blood battle and showcase of willpower from some of the league’s most determined & gifted athletes.
Against all odds -- and stubborn-dad-like parity enforcement from our league commissioner -- our league MVP, Lance Moore, rose above any dissatisfaction regarding the odds and ends of the league rulebook and took his game to another level -- and showed everyone why he’s a multi-time, multi-league champion by leading his team to the most thrilling of victories.
Showtime found themselves chasing 2 points with 4.3 seconds left in overtime. The stadium was left in shock as the heavy favorite was on the verge of the biggest of upsets. Was this going to be a Cinderella Story for Team AB? Moore said no. The superstar guard dug deep and found something within himself that not many have; a clutch gene, a certain je ne sais quoi, his mojo. He elevated his game when it mattered most. Moore took the inbound pass coast-to-coast at lightspeed and skied into the air between two defenders at the top of the key to nail a three-pointer as the clock expired sealing the victory for Showtime. This buzzer beater will forever go down in club history and is one of the most stunning moments we’ll ever see. Mayhem ensued as the fans went wild and they're already calling this the Bay Club version of, "The Shot." Showtime advances to the next round. (And they’re pissed)
6:15 PM Game: Team JAM 55, Team NIMO 50
Team JAM overcame a deficit to defeat team NIMO in the 6:15 PM playoff matchup. Team JAM were led by Tony Johnson and Neema Mohseni who each had 21 points helping their team advance to the divisional round. Johnson added 9 rebounds and 8 assists and Mohseni contributed 7 boards with 6 assists. Ali Nayab, one of the league’s most gifted passers & defenders dropped 7 dimes and added 6 rebounds. JAM moves on to face Showtime in Round 2.
Team Nimo fought honorably and had a dynamic team this season but couldn’t overcome the recruiting from Team JAM ultimately in this Round 1 matchup. Keith Singery played his tail off and led the team with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Nick Diciaula had a valiant-MVP-like season and capped it off by having a near double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Jordan Mole produced a TSP of 22 with 8 boards and 7 assists. Fall 2024 Team Nimo will forever remain in our hearts as one of the classiest & most respected teams in Bay Club Basketball's history and we were honored to watch you guys perform this season.
7:15 PM Game: Team FoCho 73, Team MAKe 62
Avi Fogel and Alex Cho led the charge for FoCho in their playoff win with each dropping over 20 points. Cho produced 21 points, 8 boards and 6 assists for a TSP of 35. Fogel chipped in 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for a TSP of 37. Surprisingly, Trevor Roe was the team’s third highest scorer providing a whopping TSP of 31 with his 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists showing he’s got some talent behind all that beauty. Fellow heartthrob, Ben Stoodley, returned from injury and contributed 11 points along with 11 rebounds and 6 assists and had his team in rhythm with his tremendous basketball IQ and passing skills. Rob Sharp delivered a gritty performance grabbing rebounds and steals at the game’s most critical moments. Ryan Lynn showed he has ice in his veins and hit a backbreaking three-pointer helping his team close out their victory. FoCho looked like a well-oiled machine in Round 1, they move on to face Team Gas in a battle between best friends forever, Avi & Garrett.
Team MAKe were led by Andy Kirkpatrick who had a triple-double with 16 points, 10 boards and 10 assists. Kirkpatrick caught fire to close out the season and almost willed his team to victory again. Jordan Shimizu and Bo Mazhar were also significant contributors with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Ultimately, MAKe didn’t have enough firepower this season and they will look to reload and return to being perennial title contenders after a tough Fall ‘ 24 season.
8:15 PM Game: Team GAS 58, Team RIZ 37
Team GAS delivered a bully-ball performance and had a chip on their shoulder in the first round finale. Gas seemed like either they had an upset stomach or that they were pissed off for greatness muscling their way through defenders for tough buckets throughout the game. Team Gas were led by United States American, Garrett Pagon who produced 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Sergey Volkov was their leading scorer with 21 points on 5 three-pointers. Volkov set the tone and was mad all night and actually received a technical for being too fired up. Sagie Shpigelman had an untraditional double-double with 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Conrad Tucker had 12 boards and 4 assists and played excellent hustle defense. Travon Brown also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and played lockdown defense on one of the league’s most unstoppable players. “He isn’t unstoppable anymore, is he?,” said Brown.
Team RIZ felt the loss of team captain, Arley Gonzalez, who was out on maternity leave. The team fought valiantly but couldn’t get in rhythm offensively. Danny Reilly, the league-voted Defensive Player of the Year Award winner did his best to snatch away the victory from Team Gas with his TSP of 32. The Rizman ultimately ended the night with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and he still went home a winner because he’s a great guy with a great family and still won defensive player of the year. Donovan Walton balled out with 15 points and 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Mark Watkins was a great leader for the team and had 8 rebounds, 5 assists and a couple of clutch threes. Despite the effort from Team Riz’s Big Three it wasn’t enough to overcome the physicality of Team Gas. Gas 58, Riz, 37.
