All team captains are required to clear their choice of team color schemes with us as we want to avoid duplicating any color schemes on different teams. We don't think that any of you players want that, and I positively know that the officiating crew doesn't!
Thanks for your help...
Because of the condition of Haverty Field, the location(s) of all of our games this season are being considered and chosen while having to deal with more complicated issues than what we've had to in past seasons. Therefore, the location(s)have not been settled yet. We are working on these issues, and believe we'll have them resolved soon. Please bear with us for awhile and we'll let everyone know ASAP where we'll be playing each game
. Meanwhile, the schedules have been set and posted. Good luck to everyone... this should be an interesting season!
As many of you are aware, the City of Clearlake has expressed concern about the use of Austin Park for, at the very least, recreational events because of the wear that these activities put on the "fields". So, please do not play or practice on the "scrimmage area" at all until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation...
Since we're into our scrimmages, it has been suggested that we use the set ups to provide opportunities for players to practice or workout/drill in order to get in or keep in "football shape". So we're going to set up about an hour earlier than the scheduled start time of these scrimmages. These practice sessions will be open to all members. Please spread the word about this after you read it. It seems as if there are too many players not hearing about our activities or events until after they happen!

As the name implies, these are open style scrimmages that any adult (18 years or older, unless with signed parental consent) who wants to play flag football can attend for free. This is a good way for individuals or teams to get orientated to our league which will begin the 2013/2014 Winter Season on Saturday, December7th. We are also looking for people that are looking for an “active lifestyle change” opportunity other than playing, by volunteering to help us officiate. Since we can provide training, no experience is necessary.
We’re going to play the hybrid game of water balloon tag and flag football at the 56th Annual Redbud Parade and Festival. Registration for the games will start at 10:00am at our booth which will be located between the tennis courts and our mini-field in Austin Park. Games will start at 1:00pm. Participants will need to sign a waiver and should remember to wear something appropriate that they can get wet in. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have their parent or guardian sign their waiver with them. Event is free! Fans are welcome to enjoy the action from the sidelines, just be aware of the potential to get splattered also!
TWIMC,
We’re going to be reviving a tradition that was not celebrated last season. The plan is to meet on the field one last time to have some fun with this game that we are all, at the very least, extremely enthusiastic about. We’ll choose two team captains, who will begin a pickup game style roster selection. I would like to start the game at 1:00PM, so please be there by 12:30 to get teams identified. Thanks everybody… see y’all on the field!
TWIMC,
Glory Days Flag Football League 2013 Winter Season Championship Game will be at Clearlake’s Haverty Field starting at 2:00PM. We’re asking for donations at the gate to help fund the league’s operating expenses and with that donation we’ll include a visit to a BBQ stand/booth for a serving of refreshments. LCPTV Channel 8’s video crew and possibly some other local internet and print media will be there to cover the game. Please contact Bob Hopkins (707)350-1411, Vince Lamb (707)295-0223, or Esther Allen (707)533-6280 if you have any questions about attendance or support that we would greatly appreciate.
TWIMC,
It’s been determined that the post season should begin this Saturday. So we’ll be out at Haverty Field at 12:00pm to proceed. The number two and three seeded teams will play to determine who will play the number one seed next week. That would be Mobb Squad and Mean Machines this week. Good luck and good fun to everybody.
