Reminding everyone that we have one more carwash this year on Saturday the 6th. Please come out to help support the Clearlake Youth Center Renovation Project! After all, they are providing us the opportunity to upgrade our playing field this season. The following Friday ( October 12th) we are finally going to try the boat wash fundraising experiment. From 2:30 to 5:30pm we're going to setup a boat "rinsing" station at Redbud Park in affiliation with the Clearlake Chamber of Commerce and Best Bass Fishing to raise funds and show the community how to support programs for our kids. It's time to step up and make the big play people! This is a big opportunity to get some good publicity! We're putting a lot of work into setting up these fundraisers and it doesn't look good for the league if you ( the members ) don't back us up.
Please help us out by giving up a couple of hours to wipe down some cars and boats. Thanks...

OS2 was played under manned because of an apparent lack of communication concerning the start time. We did post that here, on our website, and tried to spread the info by word of mouth. From now on, all open scrimmages and early games of the regular season will start at 10:00am. Having said that, OS3 will be at Austin Park on Saturday, September 29th starting at 10:00am!!!!! Our Side Judge(Vinny Lamb) will be having surgery on his foot soon, so we'll be missing his services until after the season starts. We are now in a very proactive referee recruitment mode and everyone can help by spreading the word that we are looking for volunteers to start training immediately! Help us help you make this league stronger!
Also the fundraisers we are doing will help our adult division in many tangible and intangible ways. They are helping to restore the Clearlake Youth Center, and develop our Youth Division. In the process, we are solidifying our relationship with community resources. Any member who signs up to help will receive a percentage discount of upcoming season fees applied. So, any of you players sitting around with nothing much to do, please come down to the Youth Center and donate a little time and energy to help us help you make this a stronger league! Thanks everyone...

Our fourth fundraising carwash is scheduled for the 8th of September (see previous entries on this B-BOARD), and OS2(OPEN SCRIMMAGE 2) is scheduled for the following Saturday(9/15) starting at 10:00am this time.
Gotta run for now, but will make events for schedule at later time...

This and following open scrimmages are being set up to provide players and refs the opportunity to get in "football shape". There are no fees involved, we're just getting everyone warmed up for the upcoming season. Please go to our facebook group wall(GDFFL Members) and post something if you're interested. Otherwise, please spread the word... the more players the better these will be. Watch for upcoming events on our group wall and here.

Apparently interest in our summer passing tournament diminished to a point that nobody thought it would be worth the effort to try to organize it. That is a shame, but we'll just move forward from here. Last year we started having "open scrimmages" for any players(new and veteran members) that wanted to get into or stay in football shape. So we're going to organize some of those as soon as we know that there are enough interested people involved. Clearlake Youth Center and Glory Days Flag Football League-Youth Division (GDFFL-YD) are hosting a fundraising carwash on Saturday, July 7th starting at 10:00am. The location will be at Foods Etc on Lakeshore Dr. in Clearlake. All proceeds will be used to help develop the GDFFL-YD and support the Clearlake Youth Center Renovation Project. These projects are very dependent on how much effort the adults of the community put into them, and since this particular type of fundraiser is labor intensive, any volunteer help will be greatly appreciated. It was good to see some of you at the Power to the Youth Tournament. The participation level from the kids was much better than we had hoped for! Many future hall of famers enjoyed themselves on Saturday. We really could use more support from the members of our adult division though. This project of developing a youth division is dependent on how much effort we "grown ups" put into it. Watch for updates on our upcoming Annual Lakeshore Lions Club 4th of July Parade / Festival event, and seriously consider volunteering a litttle time to help us out... please!
