HCP GAME RECAP: Matt Pulley would hit an RBI 1B scoring Ben Stenger, Brett Hartmann an RBI 1B scoring Scott Kessler, and Kyle Huttn a 2-RBI 2B scoring Pulley and Hartmann putting HCP up 4-0 in the 1st. Kreigh Hirschy makes the start on the mound with 2 scoreless innings to start. Matt Longfellow would BB and round the bases to score on a WP and Scott Kessler an RBI-1B scoring Ben Stenger to put HCP up 6-0 in the 2nd. Matt Longfellow would hit an RBI-1B scoring Jeremy Martin but the Tigers would score 1-R in the 3rd and 3-R's in the 4th to cut the HCP lead to 7-4. HCP goes down 1-2-3 to start the game in the 1st. Matt Pulley starts on the mound for HCP and turns the Pirates away in the 1st. Eric Teall lead's off the 2nd with a 2B in the gap, followed by Matt Pulley's 1B. Ryan Venturi hits and RBI 1B scoring Teall and Kyle Hutton hits a big RBI 2B scoring Pulley to put HCP on top 2-0. Pulley would strike out the side vs the Pirates in the 2nd. In the 3rd, Ben Stenger leads off with a HBP and Chris Cole would 1B. Eric Teall would score Stenger with an RBI 1B before Matt Pulley's 2-RBI 1B off the RF wall scoring Cole and Teall as HCP goes on top 5-0. Scott Kessler made his first start of the season on the mound and put the Rangers away 1-2-3 in the 1st. HCP came up empty in the top of the 1st inning vs John Simpson and the Indianapolis Cardinals defense. Kreigh Hirschy made his 1st career IBL & HCP start as the Cardinals would plate 1-R in the bottom of the 1st. HCP trailed for one of the first times this season but would come to life in the 2nd. Joe Scott, Jim Goodwin, & Matt Longfellow would all 3 reach base to load the bases for Scott Kessler's 2-RBI 2B off the LF wall to put HCP up 2-1. Chris Cole would then come through w/ a 2-RBI 1B followed by Matt Pulley's 2-RBI 1B scoring Cole and Eric Teall who singled to put HCP up 6-1 in the 2nd. Hirschy would pitch a scoreless 2nd for HCP. Both teams would come up empty in the 3rd. In the 4th HCP would get rolling again as Ryan Venturi would pick up a 2-RBI 3B and Venturi would score on Kyle Hutton's RBI 1B. Reigning Cy Young award winner Eric Teall would be the star of the day for HCP after making his 2nd start of the season on the mound with 4.0 1 H shutout innings w/ 7 K's to pace the Phil's defense. Teall would remain hot at the plate as well going 4-5 to lead the HCP offense on Sunday!! HCP got off to another slow start offensively while Teall struck out the side in the 1st as the game remained scoreless after 3. Matt Longfellow would lead off the 4th w/ a BB, followed by Ben Stenger's 1B. Scott Kessler would score Longfellow w/ an RBI 1B to put HCP up 1-0 followed by Eric Teall's 2-RBI 1B & Brett Hartmann's 2-RBI 2B in the gap. After Teall pitched a scoreless 4th HCP led 5-0. HCP would go up 7-0 in the 5th on Scott Kessler's RBI 1B (1 of 2 on the game). Kreigh Hirschy made his IBL & HCP debut and pitched well. After going up 7-0 HCP would allow the Bandits to score 5 R's in the 5th & 6th to cut the HCP lead to 8-5. HCP added 4 R's in the 7th off of Chris Cole's 2-RBI 2B & Eric Teall's RBI 2B. Scott Kessler would close the door on the Bandits in the 9th finishing w/ a K and line out to Chris Cole at SS to end the game.
Eric Teall leads the way for HCP going 4-5 w/ 2-1B, 2-2B, 4-R, 3-RBI, & SB while going 4.0 IP w/ 0R, 0BB, 1H, & 7 K's on the mound. Teall is now batting .786 on the season!!

HCP improves to 3-0 on the 2015 IBL season and will now have two weekends in a row off to celebrate Memorial Day 2015!! HCP will not return to action until Sunday, June 7th vs the (1-2) Indy Howl @ Guerin Catholic HS in Noblesville!! First pitch will be at 12:30pm EDT!!
