Hi Everyone:

 

My name is Tammy Prince. 

I will be the team manager for the 2019-2020 Fundy Hericanes Team. 

The head coach is Stephen Maltby and he is joined by assistant coach, Wayne Ellis. 

The remaining coaching staff will be announced in the coming weeks.  

 

On behalf of Stephen, Wayne, myself and the rest of the EDZA South team, I want to thank everyone for participating in the Fundy Hericanes tryout process.  As we all enjoy the beautiful days of summer, I wanted to send out a quick message with some direction to prepare everyone for the final stages of the Fundy Hericanes selection process.

 

The final selection process will look like this:

 

4 Ice Times – all at RVCC (River Valley Community Centre)

 

1. Mon. Sept.9^th8:00pm – 9:00 pm Try out Prep (no evaluation)
2. Fri.  Sept 13^th7:15pm – 8:45 pm  Practice – skills 
3. Sat. Sept 14^th3:00pm – 4:30pm  Scrimmage #1
4. Sun.Sept 15^th3:00pm – 4:30pm  Scrimmage #2

 

All players will be on the ice at the same time for the practice session.

For the scrimmages, the 2 teams will be posted on the website.

Following the last ice time, the team will be selected by the coaching staff along with other independent evaluators. The final roster will then be posted on the website on Tuesday, Sept 17^thby 8:00pm.

 

Parent Information Session

 

There will be a parent info session prior to the start of the first practice, Friday, Sept. 13^th@ 6:30pm.

 

Ball Hockey Rothesay Arena

 

Optional: There will be 4 ball hockey sessions held at the Rothesay Arena during the month of August. These sessions are encouraged but not mandatory. The objective is to provide an opportunity for the players to become acquainted with basic team strategy, culture and with each other in a relaxed and fun environment. 

            

Ball Hockey Schedule:

1. Tues.  Aug 13^th8:00 – 9:15pm
2. Thurs. Aug 15^th8:00 – 9:15pm
3. Tues.  Aug 27^th8:00 – 9:15pm
4. Thurs. Aug 29^th8:00 – 9:15pm

 

What to bring to Ball Hockey: helmet with mask, gloves, shin guards, elbow pads, stick

 

Registration

 

The registration fee for the final selection is $125 for the four ice times (5.5 hrs).

There is no fee for the ball hockey sessions.

1.Prep skate (9th) - players shopw up and get a feel for the ice. Wear own practice jersey. 

2.Skills practice (13th) - register upon entry (make cheque payable to Fundy Hericanes) receive an assigned jersey (keep for the tryouts return after final scrimmage).

3.Parents meeting - upstairs at RVCC prior to Skills Practice (13th) at 6:30pm 

4.Final roster announced on Sept 15th by 8:00pm
