With the fewest games ever in club’s history in a semester, SEMO Club Baseball team is heading into the spring semester with a heavy workload. Jumping up to 18 games this semester with games against 3 different D1 teams. With a fall conference record of 2-1, SEMO is tied for first in the conference with Dayton and Xavier. This semester will be full of road trips, double headers and beautiful days at the ball fields. Go RedHawks!

11/6/2018Weather Drowns Redhawks Fall Schedule

SEMO Plays Fewest Amount of Games in One Semester

The rain seemed to follow the Redhawks Club Team all semester. Of SEMO's 15 games on the Fall 2018 schedule, 7 games were lost due to inclement weather, and 3 more due to a opposing team travel issue. The 5 games the team did play were the fewest SEMO has ever played in one semester. The Redhawks finished 2-3 overall, but enter conference play in the Spring in a 3 way tie for first place in the division with a winning percentage of .667, (Xavier 4-2, Dayton 2-1, SEMO 2-1). The club will be counting on better weather in the spring, as they carry a hefty schedule over with them. The spring semester includes 4 Conference matchups (Xavier, Dayton, Illinois State, SIU) and the Starkville Invitational Tournament at Mississippi State University.

4/30/2018Former NCBA Pitcher Making Noise in MLB

Former East Carolina University Club Baseball Pitcher, Tanner Duncan, is making noise in lower levels of the Houston Astros Organization. He was signed by scouts who watched him during ECU's NCBA world series championship run in the 2017 season. He posted a 2.17 ERA with 31 K's in 37 innings of work for the Astros Gulf Coast League affiliate. He is currently pitching in the bullpen for the Astros Single A team in Quad Cities. His fastball has topped out at 96 mph. There has only been one NCBA player ever to make it all the way up to pro ball, which was Steve Scmoll, who played for the club team at Maryland. He appeared with LA Dodgers in 2005.
