10U Half Ice

Competition Level

Each 10U Major and Minor teams will schedule four (4) Half ice and/or cross ice games between September, October, November & December and two (2) Half ice games after December 31st and before the State Tournament for a total of six (6) games. Major/Minor teams can play each other for credit.

 

At the State Tournament credential meeting, each 10U major and minor team will present, in their State book, scoresheets documenting that the minimum requirement of six (6) half ice games has been met. If a team fails to meet this guideline they will forfeit their first game at the State Tournament. This forfeit does not count towards the current State Tournament rule which DISQUALIFIES a team from play in the State Tournament if they knowingly forfeit a game and this team may advance through the tie-breaker process.

 

Recreation Level

Each 10U A and B team will play six (6) Half ice and/or cross ice games between October, November, December, January and February. A and B teams may schedule with each other for credit.

Grants for hosting 10u half ice tournaments & jamborees

The State will make available $5000 for Comp and $10,000 for Rec. Associations hosting 10u half ice tournaments or jamborees may apply for grants for up to $1000. The grant may cover up ½ of the jamborees cost (ice & refs). Monies will be distributed after the completion of the tournament/jamboree.

 

Comp associations have until August 15th to apply. Rec associations have until October 15th to apply.

Associations receiving grants will be notified prior to their respective scheduling meetings. Applications will be reviewed by the VP’s of the perspective councils, VP of Player Development & State ADM Coordinator.
