PLAYER'S ELIGIBILITY (Section 1)
A. All participants must be within their age group or younger:
B. ALL PLAYERS MUST BE ACCREDITED before they are allowed to play their first game. Meaning they should be in the online registration rosters.
C. Only accredited players listed on the team roster will be allowed to play if:
- All players are required to show either TWO pictured documents (Birth certificate, Driver’s license, Health Card or School ID) OR an original Passport (no photocopy) to the tournament accreditation committee for eligibility purposes. Failing to do so if a protest arise, games players with the protest player will be forfieted.
TEAM and PLAYER ELIGIBILITY (Section 2)
a. All teams must have their Players, Parents of players under 18 years of age and individuals who serve as a coach or in other prescribed positions of their club confirm that they have reviewed the concussion awareness resources approved by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
b. All teams must have validated copies of score sheet with the complete name & jersey number. One copy given to the organizer’s table. The other copies to be kept by the team coach/manager and to be handed to the score keeper every time your team play. We will have the blank scoresheets in the score table.
c. All players must wear the same team uniform at least the jersey (top) bearing the same team name and color.
d. A maximum of 12 players per team.
e. If a player is caught playing for more than one team (unless playing on the same club name and in a proper age group or age down) the said player will be banned from playing for the rest of the current tournament. All the teams involved except for the original team will be fined $200 payable immediately or the team will be disqualified for the rest of the tournament immediately.
ELIMINATION and PLAYOFF ROUND
a. All teams are guaranteed to play three games.
b. Two wenty (20) minutes running time.
c. Game is played running time except for time out and the last two minutes of second half which will be stopped time.
d. All types of defense are allowed.
e. DROP BACK RULE (2009 & 2008 only) in effect when a team is ahead by twenty (20) or more points. They must drop back behind the half court line to allow the losing team to dribble the ball unimpeded and established a frontcourt status.
i. First violation will be a warning ii. Second and succeeding violation will be a bench technical foul allowing the other team two free throw shots and ball possession.
For all the teams:
i. A team must have a minimum of five players to start the game
ii. Open substitution. Open defense
iii. All games will consist of two (2) twenty minutes halves running time.
iv. Only 2 Timeouts per half, cannot carryover and last two minutes of second half will be stopped time.
v. All type of defense is allowed (Zone, Man on Man, Box, etc.)
k. Foul Count of 8 team fouls per half results in Bonus (FIBA rules apply)
L. 5 personal fouls results in disqualification of player out of game
m. Extra period (overtime) for all divisions:
i. Up to TWO 2 minutes stopped time overtime (OT) period will be awarded if necessary
ii. Last posted Possession arrow determines ball possession during the 1st and 2nd overtime period.
iii. If after the second (OT) the game was still tied a game of sudden death will be played (3rd OT)
iv. “SUDDEN DEATH” overtime means the team that scored first WINS the game
v. “SUDDEN DEATH” overtime will start on a JUMP BALL @ the center court
vi. Only one 30 sec. time out per team per overtime period is allowed
PLAYOFF ELIGIBILITY
a. To be eligible in the play-off, a player MUST meet the following requirements:
i. Must be accredited, listed in the final roster online form. remind your palyers to bring a proof of age with pictures in case of protest.
TEAM STANDING and TIE BREAKER
Any players who have sustained a concussion or are suspected of having sustained a concussion must be immediately removed from the game in a safe manner and must not be allowed to play until permitted to do so in accordance with return-to-sport protocol and medical clearance received. Team Coach must inform parent or guardian of the removal due to injury or awareness of prior injury.
ZERO TOLERANCE for all un-sportsman like behavior by the player, coaches, team managers, parents, spectators and tournament guest. All parties involved will be asked to leave the premises (Hoop Dome) and will be banned on ALL future MCUP basketball tournaments for a period of five (5) years.
8. MCUP Basketball/ PIDC reserved the right to implement rules which is not covered OR in the gray area but is deemed appropriate and fair to all parties involved.
