26-6A Cross Country District Championships @ Decker lake
October 13, 2022
The Anderson Cross Country teams competed in the District Championship Meet on a windy Thursday morning as a cold front passed through. Despite illness and injuries hitting the teams; the runners competed to the best of their abilities. Many of our runners ran their personal bests, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit to pass our district opponents. The official times and results can be found on athletic.net.
In the varsity girl's division, Lucy Gibson earned a 14th place trophy with a time of 20 minutes and 16 seconds and Julia Hirschman finished in 24th place with a personal best of 20 minutes and 48 seconds. Opal Lung, Caroline Chomel, Hope Guerra, and Abbey Stein rounded out the scoring for the Trojans.
Many of the varsity boys were hit with the flu and could not compete, but the rest of the boys and the alternates competed to the best of their ability. Sebastian Cruz finished in 29th place with a time of 17 minutes and 51 seconds. David Hansen, George Tisdale, Andrew Saeger, and Riley Fuller rounded out the scoring for the teams.
In the junior varsity girls' division, 9th grader Borjana RutKouszky ran an impressive time of 23 minutes and 20 seconds and finished in 21st place among all JV runners. 9th grader Gwen Cassidy finished in 32nd place. Clara Roberts, Natalie Koeller, Farrah Scott, Shelby Brown, and Reese Vernieuw round out the scoring for the team.
In the junior varsity boy's division, 9th grade runner Manny Garduno earned a 6th place medal with a time of 18 minutes and 25 seconds. Zander Rafferty finished in 27th place with a time of 19 minutes and 50 seconds. Kellen Kitchen, Edward Tisdale, and Ryan Rios rounded out the scoring for the teams
Congratulations to the 9th grade girls team! They earned the Runner-Up plaque at the XC District Meet. Jean Joliffe, Ashley Marron Rodriguez, Natalia Juarez, Evelyn Moore and Kiersten all finished in the top 15 to earn a medal for their strong finish. Great job!
Diego Bustelo earned a medal with a 9th place finish with a time of 20 minutes and 55 seconds. Winston Raveney finished in 31st place. Schaefer Russell and Henry Honey rounded out the scoring for the team.

Marble Falls XC Invitational
October 1, 2022
The Anderson XC teams competed in the Leo Manzano Marble Falls XC Invitational on Saturday morning. Conditions were excellent with a cool morning to run. Our Anderson runners faced some very tough competition for our last regular season meet with the likes of Dripping Springs, Lake Travis, Bowie, and Austin High. Many of our runners improved on the personal best times in the 5K. The facilities at Marble Falls provided an excellent venue to view the competitors and at the finish line on the track. The bathroom set-up was excellent for runners and parents.
Thank you to our parents and friends who drove out to the Marble Falls, TX to watch our runners compete. Athletic.net and Tx.milesplit.com websites have the complete times and scoring for all teams except the JV girls. The meet director is working on getting us the official results for the JV girls.
Lucy Gibson finished in 13th place overall in the varsity girls division with a time of 20:14.6. Julia Hirschman finished in 32nd place. Hope Guerra, Leah Heckmann, Opal Lung, Farrah Scott, and Caroline Chomel rounded out the scoring for the Trojans.
Official JV girls times were not available, but we have our unofficial times for our girls from our Anderson timers. 9th grader, Bojana Rutkouszky, ran an impressive time of 22:15.00. Gwen Cassidy finished with a time of 23:59.00. Clara Roberts finished with a time of 24:38.00, Shelby Brown-24:50.00, and Natalie Koeller-24:53.00. Jean Joliffe ran very wells a swell.
Leo Spitzer finished in 10th place overall with a time of 16:20.00 and Sebastian Cruz finished in 20th place with a time of 16:57.20. Andrew Saeger, David Hansen, Ahmad Arab, Abel marron Rodriguez and George Tisdale rounded out the scoring for the varsity boys team.
Manny Garduno continued to impress in the junior varsity boys division by finishing in 7th place with a time of 19:05.6. Diego Bustelo finished in 22nd place with a time of 20:32.80. Chris Lee, Pat Munroe, Winston Raveney, Emiliano Valdez, and Edward Tisdale rounded out the scoring for the junior varsity boys team.
We appreciate the team’s excellent efforts throughout the season. The Trojans will compete in the 26-5A Cross Country Championships on Thursday, October 13th at Decker lake/lake Long. More information will be coming out later with starting times for each race.

St. Andrews XC Invitational
McNeil Gold-Elite XC Meet
September 22 & 24, 2022
The Anderson XC teams competed in the Lampasas Badger XC Invitational on Thursday morning and Leo Spitzer qualified to compete in Gold-Elite McNeil XC Meet on Saturday morning. The kids overcame a shortage of bathrooms and communication problems from the
host school and did a tremendous job competing in the heat and dust in Lampasas.

Julia Hirschman medaled in 7th place in the varsity girls division. Leah Heckmann finished in 21st place.
The JV girls team finished 3rd place overall. Natalie Jones finished in 11th place, Cassidy Gwen, 17th place, Clara Roberts, 18th place Shelby Brown,19th place and Natalie Koeller, 20th place. The varsity and junior varsity boys combined to win the JV division. The combined start times for the 1A-6A race was not communicated, but our kids ran very well. Sebastian Cruz finished in 4th place in the varsity division and Andrew Saeger finished in 19th. Manny Garduno finished in 17th place in the JV boys division.
Leo Spitzer competed in the Elite Gold division at the McNeil Meet in Round Rock on Saturday morning. He competed against some of the state's best runners and ran a personal best time of 15 minutes and 46 seconds in the 3 miles run.
We are coming up the last regular season meet of the season when the teams travel to Leo Manzano Marble Falls Invitational on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Marble Falls has informed us that they will be combining some races due to the heat later in the day. The information will be in the Marble falls XC Meet information.

St. Andrews XC Invitational

The Anderson XC teams competed in the St. Andrews XC Invitational on Saturday morning. Thank you to our parents and friends who came out to the Tailgate Breakfast prior to the beginning of the races. Athletic.net has the complete times and scoring for all teams that competed at the St. Andrews Meet.
The varsity girls team finished in 4th place overall. The varsity girls had two runners finish in the top 10. Lucy Gibson medaled with a 4th place finish time of 10 minutes and 45 seconds. Julia Hirschman medaled with a 10 th place finish time of 21 minutes and 49 seconds. Opal Lung, Farrah Scott, Abbey Stein, and Caroline Chomel rounded out the scoring for the varsity girls.
The varsity boys team finished in 4 th place overall. Leo Spitzer once again led the way with a 4th place medal and a time of 16 minutes and 43 seconds. Sebastian Cruz finished in 16 th place with a time of 17 minutes and 45 seconds, just missing out on a medal. Andrew Saeger, Able Marron Rodriguez, Ben Fountain, Liam Jobe, and Riley Fuller rounded out the scoring for the varsity boys.
The junior varsity girls team took 4th place overall in the 2-mile run. Bojana Rutkouszky medaled with a 4th place finish in 14 minutes and 13 seconds. Ashley Marron Rodriguez, Hope Guerra, Natalie Koeller, Clara Roberts, Gwen Cassidy and Shelby Brown rounded out the scoring for the Lady Trojans.
The JV boys finished in 5 th place overall. Manny Garduno medaled with a 12 th place finish with a time of 20 minutes and 26 seconds. Chris Lee finished in 16 th place. Diego Bustelo, Emiliano Valdez, Winston Raveney, Pat Munroe, and Edward Tisdale rounded
out the scoring for the Trojans.

Austin ISD XC Invitational
September 2, 2022
The Anderson XC teams competed in the Austin ISD XC Invitational at Decker Lake on Fridaymorning. All runners competed in a 5K run. Athletic.net and mychiptime.com have the complete times and scoring for all teams that competed at the Austin ISD Meet. The Anderson XC teams competed against many 6A schools and their district opponents in 17-5A.
The team finished in 10 th place overall. Leo Spitzer led the way with an 11th place medal and a time of 16 minutes and 24 seconds. Sebastian Cruz finished in 23rd place with a time of 17 minutes and 45 seconds. Andrew Saeger, Abel Marron Rodriguez, Ben Fountain, Ahmed Arab, and Riley Fuller rounded out the top seven scorers for the varsity boys.
The varsity girls finished in 8 th place overall. Lucy Gibson medaled with a 13th place finish time of 20 minutes and 25 seconds. Julia Hirschman, Caroline Chomel, Opal Lung, Farrah Scott, Natalie Jones, and Abbey Stein rounded out the scoring for the varsity girls.
The junior varsity boys team finished in 3rd place overall. The JV boys medaled in the competition. David Hansen finished with the 3rd place medal overall with a time of 18 Minutes and 46 seconds. Liam Jobe medaled in 10 th place with a times of 19 minutes and 43 seconds and Zander Rafferty finished with an 11 th place medal in 19 minutes and 47 seconds. Manny Garduno, Chris Lee, Diego Bustelo, and Joakuin Espinosa rounded out the scoring for the Trojans.

Vista Ridge XC Invitational

The Anderson XC teams competed in the very competitive Vista Ridge XC Invitational on Friday morning. Many of our runners improved their times on their 5K runs and it was the first time for many of the sub-varsity girls to compete in a 5K run. Athletic.net has the most complete times and scoring for all teams that competed at the Vista Ridge Meet.
The varsity girls finished in 6th place overall in the team scoring. The varsity girls had two runners finish in the top twenty-five. Lucy Gibson medaled with a 15th place finish time of 20 minutes and 24 seconds. Julia Hirschman finished in 24th place in 21 minutes and 02 seconds. Leah Heckmann, Opal Lung, Caroline Chomel and Abbey Stein rounded out the team scoring.
The junior varsity girls took 4th place overall. 9th grader, Bojana Rutkouszky, medaled with a 7th place finish in 22 minutes and 48 seconds. Ashley Marron Rodriguez finished in 17th place with a time of 23 minutes and 53 seconds and Reese Vernieuw finished in 24th place. Kaeden Fritz, Clara Roberts, Shelby Brown and Gwen Cassidy rounded out the scoring.
The varsity boys went into the meet a little shorthanded with some varsity runners recovering from injuries and illness, but were able to many of our runners compete and improve. Ninth grader Andrew Saeger continues to improve each week.
The junior varsity boys finished in the middle of the pack in 11th place overall. Ben Fountain continues to improve. He finished in 19th place with a time of 19 minutes and 15 seconds. Zander Rafferty, Chris Lee, Manny Garduno, Diego Bustelo, Joakuin Espinosa and Winston Raveney rounded out the scoring for the JV boys.

Temple XC Invitational

The Anderson Cross Country teams got off to an excellent start of the season with their first regular cross country meet. The teams competed in the Temple XC Invitational on Friday morning.
The varsity girls finished in 3rd place at the Temple Meet. The girls competed in the 3-mile run. The varsity girls had two runners finish in the top twenty. 9th grade runner, Lucy Gibson, medaled with a 7th place finish time of 20:58. Julia Hirschman medaled with a 14th place finish in 21 minutes and 46 seconds. Leah Heckmann, Natalie Jones, Opal Lung, Caroline Chomel, and Abbey Stein rounded out the team scoring.
The varsity boys finished in 4th place at the Temple Meet. In the boys varsity division 3-mile run, Leo Spitzer medaled with a 7th place finish with a time of 16 minutes and 21 seconds. Sebastian Cruz medaled with an 11th place finish with a time of 16:55. Abel Marron Rodriguez, Andrew Saeger, Ahmad Arab, Riley Fuller and Joshua Williamson-Wood rounded out the team scoring.

Reese Vernieuw medaled with a 9th place finish. Ashley Marron Rodriguez medaled with a 10th place finish and Clara Roberts medaled with a 16th place finish. Gwen Cassidy, Natalie Koeller, and Jean Joliffe round out the scoring for the junior varsity girls team.

Chris Lee, Baden Russell, Diego Bustello, and Devin Gottschalk rounded out the scoring for the junior varsity boys.
