All-State Selection Process (Established in 2021)
If you have questions or concerns, please direct them to the Committee Chair, Jack Smith- VP of the Michigan High School Lacrosse Coaches Association.
The All State honorees will be selected as the best players in the state, honored by division. (This means there will be a D1 All-State list and a D2 All-State list)
All-American selections will receive 1st Team All-State designation. (If more than the allotted slots for an All-State position earn All-American awards, the 1st Team All-State positions will be greater than the scheduled allotment. – For example, if 5 Division 1 Michigan players earn All-American at Attack, the 1st Team All-State list for Division 1 will have 5 rather than 4 - See below).
There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Teams selected with the following numbers:
4 Attack
5 Midfielders

2 At Large Members at the discretion of the Committee Chair
The committee will meet in person or via web conference to make the selection for All-State and the All-State awards will be announced at the year-end meeting.
The process for determining if a player is All-State is as follows:
The All-State committee chair will compile a list of statistics from the nomination forms, and present those to the committee along with the nomination forms.
The All-State nominating form must be filled out completely including detailed player statistics and team performance. If the form is not completely filled out, the player will not be considered for any of the All-State teams, including Honorable Mention.
The committee chair will go through the list of nominations by position and division by last name, allowing for the committee members and advocating coaches to give their impressions of the player.
After all players have been discussed, the committee will use ranked choice voting to rank the players, and determine who will make All-State and what team.
The All-State Selection Committee will meet on the Sunday before the State-Championship.
Nominations will be due no later than Monday, May 26th, 2025.
