The TC Saints won the GSL Father's Day Tournament Championship Game beating the Tacoma Tugs 8-1. Congratulations on another Championship Tournament.
July 20, 2014
After going undefeated in pool play and earning the 2nd seed going into bracket play, the 14u Saints squeezed out a close come from behind win over a very good FCA team in the Semi-Final game to make it to the Championship game.
However, a Championship win would not happen this weekend. Loosing just their 4th game in 44 games this season, the 14u Saints would have to settle for a 2nd place ring.
This should keep the team thirsty and serve as motivation as the team travels to California next week for the World Series in San Diego. A web link to the teams progress will be on our Facebook page, Gamechanger and on our website. Note: The 14u team has taken 1st place in the 3 of the other tournaments they have entered.
The 16U Saints closed out their season by claiming their third tournament championship of the summer, finishing with a 31-14 record. They went 5-0 on the weekend, claiming victories versus the Auburn Longhorns and Dream Team in pool play, versus PC Diamond Jaxx Gold in the quarterfinal game, versus Kent Bulldogs Red in the Semifinal, and again defeating Dream Team for the Championship.
Behind strong pitching performances from Logan Chase, Nik Quartano, Ryan Connor, Noah Andrews, and Erik Stevenson, the Saints were aided offensively by Nate Hutson (9-15, 8 runs scored), Keenan Milligan (4HR, 8 RBI), Andrews (9-16, 5 runs scored), and Jay Carlton (7 RBI).
James McCann got his first MLB start today vs. the San Francisco Giants. The start for James was discussed in an article Mlive a couple days ago featured in the article below.

James getting some cuts in before the game.
Many of us in the TC Saints Organization have watched James McCann play
since he was as young as our boys who play with the TC Saints today.
This weekend, Coach Spencer was able fly to New York City to see James on the big stage Sunday night as James participated in the All Star Futures game at the New York Mets Stadium. Meeting with the best upcoming players in the Major Leagues and members of the MLB channel staff and coaches and was a exciting day. Surely, Whitey will return to Washington with exciting news about how James is doing as he makes a run in professional baseball and things to implement in the TC Saints program.

James McCann call up to the “bigs”…
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus announced after Sunday’s 6-2 loss to the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field that Moya, who played at Double-A Erie, and outfielder Tyler Collins and infielder Hernan Perez from Triple-A Toledo, would join the Tigers today for the start of a series in Cleveland.
Pitchers Kyle Lobstein, Kyle Ryan and Robbie Ray, plus McCann, will join the Tigers on Tuesday. Ryan earned his first major league win for the Tigers on Saturday.
Fans have been calling for McCann to be called up for a while. To make room for McCann on the 40-man roster, pitcher Drew VerHagen was recalled and placed on the 60-man disabled list.
McCann, 24, was a second round pick by the Tigers in 2011. He is batting .295 with 34 doubles, seven home runs and 54 RBIs in 109 games this season at Triple-A. To read the full article, click here
