Ray Romano Memorial Award

With the Exception of the Team MVP Award the Ray Romano Award is the longest presented award in the teams history given since 1965. Ralph Anthony "Ray" Romano was a full back for the Mustangs in 1955. Romano became ill with leukemia during the '55 season but still remained a member of the team. He lost his battle with cancer in January of 1956 and the Class of 1956 year book was dedicated to him. Traditional since then the #24 has not been used in honor of him. This award has been sponsored by Romano’s close friend and former teammate Ernie Ardolino. The Award goes to a player has shown courage, desire and determination.
