The Booster Club Board takes great pains to prepare a working budget each year taking into account the needs of the program, equipment that is in need of replacing, and other expenses. We pride ourselves on running as lean a budget as possible but aquatics equipment is exposed to water, sun, wind, and dirt and equipment upkeep can be costly.
The school district supplies us with the ability to use the pool, mainteanance upkeep, utilities, and some coaching stipends. All other items necessary to operate a successful aquatics program are paid for by the Booster Club e.g. parents. Lane lines cost $1000 each. A set of water polo team caps cost $1200-$1800 for one squad. Scoreboard parts break and computer upgrades cost several hundred dollars. We pay for off-season coaching for Girls Water Polo (6th Period Fall Quarter) and Boys Swim (6th Period Winter Quarter). In addition, we may pay for a third coach for the Boys and Girls Swim Teams (dependent on number of swimmers) during the swim season to help those who are new to swimming improve and feel confident in their abilities. Having a third coach on deck allows each head coach and assistant coach to concentrate their efforts on the Varsity and JV squads.
We provide expense reports and budget updates at each monthly Booster Club Meeting. If you have any questions, please contact our Treasurer, Christian Prezgay, at prezgay@gmail.com.
