Head VarsityCoach - Mason Leech
Coach Leech is originally from Garland, TX. He graduated from Garland High School then continued his academic and athletic career at Austin College in Sherman, TX. He graduated from Austin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Educational Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. The 2021-2022 school year marks Coach Leech’s eighth year in public education. Coach Leech has taught Social Studies and coached HS baseball at North Forney High School, Frisco Memorial High School, and is in his second year at McKinney High School. He and his wife Tiffany Leech have been married for five years and have two daughters, McKenna and Maylee.
Coach Daniel Garrett
Coach Garrett is originally from Rockwall, TX. He graduated from Rockwall High school in 2013 and continued his athletic and academic career at Fort Scott Community College (KS). After one year he received a scholarship to North Carolina A&T State University to continue his athletic and academic career in Greensboro, NC. After the completion of his playing, he finished his degree at Texas A&M University- Commerce, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. The 2022-2023 school year marks Coach Garrett’s 2nd year teaching, and 2nd year at Mckinney high school teaching. Prior to teaching, Coach Garrett helped run a select organization in the DFW area. He and his wife Tamera, have been married for one year and have two dogs, Remi and Millie.
Coach Casey Crank
Coach Crank is originally from Garland, TX. He graduated from Naaman Forest High school and attended Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology, and his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. This is currently Coach Crank's fourth year of teaching and coaching, and his first year at McKinney High. Before coming to McKinney, Coach Crank worked at Berkner high school for three years. In his free time he enjoys golfing, working out, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. Coach Crank is married to his wonderful wife Kennedy, and they have a three-year-old German shepherd mix named Emma.
Coach Justin Abate
Coach Abate grew up in Farmersville, Tx. After High School, he served in the US Navy for 6 years as an Electronics Technician. Upon completion of his military service, Coach Abate played baseball at Austin College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and has been teaching/coaching since 2007. Coach Abate has coached or taught social studies at Austin College, Bonham, S and S Consolidated, and Ector. He has been Kathy since 1999 and they have one son, Drew.
Coach Michael Baumman
Coach Baumman is originally from Arlington, TX. He graduated from Arlington High Shool in 2016 and then attended Vernon Jr. College where he continued his baseball career for two years. Afterwards, he attended Texas Tech University where he received his bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. This is his first year at McKinney High School and his first year coaching. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, binge watching movies and TV shows, and watching sports.
