Weekend of 2/17:

SJE 14U Girls  defeated St. Patricks on their home court in the afternoon and then did the same to St. Elizabeth's in their back yard to win the Division Championship and go 10-0 for perfect season.

Cheered on by SJE fanatics who packed the Saints GYM and outnumbered the St E's crowd 4-1 the lady Eagles put on a gritty performance.  Lead by senior Brigid M., SJE won with total team effort due to a stingy scrappy defense from all the girls.  However, Emma C. and Amelia H. seemed to be the stingiest not allowing the oppenent any clear shots at the basket and making steals. Rebounds were dominated by Anna J. and Maura M.  The offense was running thru Lilly, Brigid, Amelia and Caroline at the end of the game but the offensive contributions from Ellie C, Charlotte Z, and Elly C.  helped deflate St. Elizabeths spirit as they could not concentrate on stopping just one SJE player.

Thanks to all the coaches for their ingenious forms of offense and defense especially during the game angainst DeChantel where the SJE team was decimated with illness and injury's.  The coaches did a fantasic job of getting the most out of the players.  Thanks Charlie, Bill and Scott!!  Job well done.

CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS!!  on a great season.
