Hi 2024 Vikings Cheer families!
I am so excited that your child will be joining us in cheering on Vikings Football this season.
Our FIRST day of practice is Monday, August 5th. We kick off practice at 6:00 pm. We will practice this season at the Costick Center. The Costick Center is located at 28600 W Eleven Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336
Registration Documents
Each cheerleader needs to submit 3 printed copies of the following:
Birth certificate
Physical dated April 15 or later
Photo with a clear image of your child's face
Practice Schedule
From August 5th-August 23rd, Vikings Cheer will practice Monday-Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Beginning the week of August 26th, cheerleaders will practice Wednesday-Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
In order to practice for Cheer-Off (November 9th), your child's team MAY increase practice to Tuesday-Friday beginning October 21st. This will be left to the discretion of the individual team coaches.
During the month of October, practice may take place inside due to changes in weather and practice needs for competition. Please be prepared for practice to take place at a different location during October.
Games
Games are played on Saturday or Sunday each weekend for the duration of the football season. It is expected that all cheerleaders will be present at all football games. Per the OMYFA rules, cheerleaders must attend 5 regular season games or will be disqualified from participation in the Cheer Off.
Flag games start at 10am. All Flag cheerleaders are expected to arrive at each game by 9am.
Our games are usually rolling starts, which means that the next game starts at the conclusion of the previous game. Flag games are the only games with hard start times. They will ALWAYS start at 10am (unless specified otherwise). Freshman games start at the conclusion of the Flag games. JV games start at the conclusion of the Freshman game. Varsity games start at the conclusion of the JV games.
Average start times are as follows:
Freshman 12pm-2pm
JV 2pm-4pm
Varsity 4pm-6pm
All cheerleaders are expected to arrive 1 hour before the average start time of their respective game.
Flag cheerleaders arrive at 9am
Freshman cheerleaders arrive at 11am
JV cheerleaders arrive at 1pm
Varsity cheerleaders arrive at 3pm
Cheer Uniforms
Cheer uniforms will be handed out during practice before the first game.
Equipment Deposit: In order for your child to receive her uniform, you will need to submit a $150 deposit. Deposits are accepted via check and money order. We will return your check/money order when you return your child's uniform in good condition at the end of the season. If you do not return your child's uniform OR it is damaged, we will cash your uniform deposit.
Volunteer Deposit: All NFWB Vikings families are REQUIRED to volunteer for one shift during each home game. A $100 deposit (check/money order) must be submitted in order to receive your child's uniform. If you (or a family member) are present for all of your volunteer shifts during the season, your deposit will be returned to you. If you fail to fulfill your volunteer commitment, the Vikings will cash your deposit check/money order.
Your child's cheer uniform will consist of a top, skirt, socks, and bow. You will need to provide the following items: briefs, a cropped turtleneck bodysuit (for cooler weather), and white athletic shoes.
ALL LEVELS: Black briefs and black bodysuits.

Cold Weather Attire
As the weather changes, Vikings Cheer will order cold weather attire. The cost of the attire will be no more than $60. Cold weather attire will be ordered during the month of July. The due date will be communicated as the order date approaches.
Cheer-Off
OMYFA Cheer-Off is November 9, 2024 at TBD. Cheer Off is a full-day event. Cheerleaders will arrive around 7 am and the event will conclude between 5pm and 6pm. Please be prepared for your child to attend the event for the entire day. Details regarding the event will take place as we approach the competition.
Parents will have an opportunity to order ads, videos, and memorabilia. Details about what is available to order and the cost will be provided during the first week of practice.
Communication
It is expected that all cheer families will connect with Group Me. A link will be sent to the phone numbers used at registration in order for you to join. The most up-to-date information will be available in Group Me.
