Coach Edens joined us for her first year of coaching in the 2016-2017 season; however, that wasn't her first year at West Broward. Coach was a graduate of the 2012 class of WBHS, and she played on both JV and Varsity squads during the opening years of the school. She's now the head coach of the Women's program here at WB. Edens has played volleyball since 2005 on local, state and national club teams. Her playing career included playing OH/MB/RS.
After graduating from WBHS, she went on to pursue her college career and graduated from FAU with a Bachelor's degree in English, a concentration in British Literature and a minor in psychology. When Coach isn't on the court, you can find her in her classroom because she's also an English teacher at WB. Since beginning her teaching career, she's taught 10th, 11th and 12th grade English.
In January of 2022, Edens was recruited to become one of the new Assistant Athletic Directors at WBHS as well. She works in the athletic department year round making sure students have the best athletic experience as possible. So her athletic career doesn't end after volleyball season.
Edens is also on the board of directors for the WBHS Alumni Association. They work together to organize and promote events throughout the year that help bring current and graduated Bobcats together.
Off the court, and out of school, Coach is married to her husband Dustin (who is also an alumn of WBHS). Together, they have a rescue cat named Anakin, and a rescue dog named Rey. Coach Edens also likes to cook, bake, boat, and nap in her free time.
