Q.  Can I sign up an INIVIDUAL PLAYER?

A.  UC Bantam is only available to formed teams.  Teams are formed and register with UC Bantam to participate in the league. See the How do we form a team link for more info.

 

Q.  My player NEEDS A TEAM or MISSED TRYOUTS, what do I do?

A.   Keeping in mind that teams need to be from the same HS Area, answers are below:

 

1.  You can go to the 'players seeking teams/teams seeking' link under '4Parents' heading on the home page and list your player there.  An interested team could then possibly contact you about your player joining a team.

 

2.  Under this same link, you can scroll through and look for teams that may have a listing looking for a player to complete a team.

     

3.  You may also find a group of listed players in YOUR AREA that may want to get together to form a team.

 

4.  Network with your neighbors and friends to form a team from your area or find a team needing a player.

 

**It is the sole responsibility of the player to find a team and join the UC Bantam League.

 

 

Q.  If I form a team does UC Bantam provide a COACH?

A.  UC Bantam is only available to formed teams.  This includes the team having a coach. 

 

 

Q.  When does the league START and END?

A.  See the Fall League Link above for November - December League and See the Winter League Link for Jan-Feb League.  This has that info.

 

 

Q.  Does UC Bantam provide PRACTICE TIME or FACILITIES?

A.  No.  UC Bantam provides the time and venue for the league games. UC Bantam or the respective schools are not required to provide practice time or facilities to teams. Here is a link of some ideas WHERE2PRACTICE. If your district is not on the practice insurance forms, there is a general insurance form. Q.  How many GAMES PER WEEK does a team play?

A.  Generally speaking, teams teams will play 1 game per week, with an occasional 2 game week or bye week.  Games are on Monday evenings and Saturdays and teams will play according to facility availability.

 

Q.  Does UC Bantam provide UNIFORMS?

A.  No.  UC Bantam is a competitive basketball league and does not provide uniforms.  There are many providers locally and on the internet that provide jerseys at reasonable prices.

 

Q.  What is REQUIRED in regards to UNIFORMS?

A.  UC Bantam asks teams to at least have matching (or very close) jerseys with numbers.  Reversible jerseys are best.  Old Jr. Jazz uniforms are ok, provided they match (or very close).  Repeat numbers are discouraged by OK.

 

Q.  Can players on teams be different AGE GROUPS?

A.  Yes.  The team must participate in a division that includes the grade of the oldest player on the team.  (ex: six 5th graders and one 6th grader - must play in a 6th grade division).

 

Q.  Can players play in DIFFERENT AREAS or on two teams representing different areas?

A.  No. 

 

Q.  Can players play in DIFFERENT DIVISIONS?

A.  Yes and NO.  "A"division players CANNOT play in a lower division, though they can play in a lower division in a higher age group.  "B" Division players can fill in on "A" division teams, or in higher age groups.
