                                                                               Wildkit Baseball Expectations

 

  • Detailed attendance will be taken on a daily basis for all practices.

  • All players must wear issued practice shirts, hats, jogging pants and spikes or gym shoes to all practices. Players are not allowed to practice if they are not properly attired.

  • All players must be on time to practice or have an excused pass. If a player is late, they must run two miles after practice. If a player is late three times or more, they will be suspended one game for each occurrence.

  • All excused absences from practice must be pre-approved by the coach. Parent phone calls don’t excuse a player. The player must contact the coach by phone or email to excuse an absence.

  • All unexcused absences from practice are equal to a one-game suspension. The player can’t dress for the game. The player must be present during the game. If the player misses more than three

    Wildkit Baseball Expectations

     

    In addition to The ETHS Code of Conduct and all Athletic Department rules and procedures, ETHS baseball players are subject to the following rules and expectations.

  • Detailed attendance will be taken on a daily basis for all mandatory team events (practices, games, meetings, etc.).

  • Players must be on time to practice or have an excused pass. Consequences for late arrival to team events are at the discretion of the player’s head coach, are progressive for repeat occurrences, and could include dismissal from the team. 

  • Absences from team events must be pre-approved by the player’s head coach in order to be excused. Parent phone calls don’t excuse a player. Players must contact the coach by text message or email to request excused absences. As a general rule, such requests should be made as soon as possible, but no later than 24 hours prior to the event.

  • All unexcused absences from mandatory team events will result in suspension of one day for each event missed and must include at least one game. Multiple day suspensions will be consecutive. Players may not dress for games while under suspension. Players must be present during games while under suspension.  Players who accumulate  more than three unexcused absences may, at the discretion of the player’s head coach, be subject to additional discipline that could include dismissal from the team. Vacations are unexcused absences. 

  • Players must wear only team issued attire for practice and games. At the coach's discretion, players may not be allowed to practice or participate in a game if not properly attired.

  • Players will be held to a high standard of behavior at all times. Consequences for inappropriate conduct are at the discretion of the player’s head coach, will be progressive, and could include dismissal from the team.  

  • The Wildkit Baseball website (wildkitnation.com) is the program’s primary form of communication.

    for unexcused absences, they will be removed from the team. The only exception is a medical note or COVID-related.

  • All players will receive a copy of the schedule, rules and grade sheets by the first official  practice.

  • The locker room (if used) must be treated with respect. We have the right to search lockers anytime throughout the year.

  • Athletic eligibility procedures should be followed per the athletic department.

  • Vacations are unexcused absences. All days must be made-up before playing a game.

  • All practices will be posted on the internet. The internet website (wildkitnation.com) is our program’s primary form of communication.
