Q: Is my athlete required to attend all three track practices?

 

A: Practice is 3 days a week, we request that  athletes attend at a minimum of two practices a week, in order to compete in a Track Meet

 

 

Q: What are the times for practices?

 

A: Practices begin promptly at 6:00 PM and athletes will finish at 8:00 PM.

 

 

Q: Can i bring my athlete to practice at a later time than designated?

 

A: Yes, but it must be cleared by a Coach prior to the start of practice;

 

 

Q: Can my athlete leave practice early?

 

A: All athletes leaving track practice, must notify a Coach prior to leaving; NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

 

Q: Can I leave my athlete at practice without being there?

 

A: NO, all parents must remain at the track in the event of a medical emergency.

 

 

Q: Does my athlete have to bring track spikes?

 

A: Athletes are not required to wear track spikes; it will enhance their performance in sprints and distance.

 

 

Q: What is my athlete required to wear to practice?

 

A: All athletes must wear shorts and T-shirts, sweat pants and sweatshirt. Basketball shoes, skating shoes and blue jeans will not be permitted to practice in.

 

 

Q: Is the track uniform required to compete?

 

A: YES, the Rockets track uniform is the required uniform for all Track meets and it keeps the athlete much cooler during hot summer days and reduces the risk of being a heat casualty. Most of our relay events require our athtletes to be in the same uniform.

 

 

 

Q: Are parents allowed to watch practices?

 

A: Yes, parents can watch from the bleachers and will not be permitted on the track during practices; and must not interfere with practices, the athlete, or Coaches. Only during medical emergency will the parents be allowed on the track.

 

 

Q: Will there be water on the track for athletes?

 

A: There will be water provided for the athletes on the track. All athletes are REQUIRED to bring a water bottle with their name on it during every practice and track meet.

 

 

Q: Will the parents have a decision on what event their athlete participates?

 

A: Only the coaching staff will determine what event the athlete will run based upon assessment week.

 

 

Q: How much will the track uniforms cost?

 

A: Youth track uniforms will cost $32 plus taxes for the singlet and shorts. Warm up suit cost $39.96.

 

 

Q: Will there be practices during inclement weather?

 

A:  Parents will be notified by email and on the website for any changes to practices or track meets due to weather.

 

 

Q: May my additional children play on the field during track practices?

 

A: No children will be allowed on the track during practices or track meets

 

 

 

Q: Will my athlete receive a Club T-shirt? Will parents be able to order club t-shirts?

 

A: Yes, all athletes will receive a free club t-shirt from FCPR prior to the first meet. Yes, club shirts can be ordered for an additional cost.
