FAQs

Question: Who are the coaches?

Answer: We ask parents to volunteer their time to coach the boys.  The parents will learn the very basics of our system and will learn different drills to use in practice to promote fundamental basketball with our youth program.

Question: What about playing time?

Answer: All kids in the feeder program receive equal playing time no matter their ability.

Question: Why do you make cuts?

Answer: This is something we, as an entire program, wish we didn't have to do.  Given the amount of time and the amount of space we have, we have no other choice.

Question: If my son lives outside the Marquette attendance area, can he still try out for your team?

Answer: No.  Out of respect to the kids who live in our attendance zone and who will attend Marquette High School, we only allow those players who will attend Marquette High School to try out for the team.  If you know for sure your son will not attend Marquette High School, we ask that you please be upfront and honest with us.  This is only in fairness to the kids and families that live in our attendance area.

Question: How many kids do you keep?
Each grade level will have around 20 players.

Question: How many teams do you have per grade level?

We will have 2 teams of about 10 players per grade level.  Each grade level will consiste of a Blue team and a White team.  Teams will be loosely determined on level of ability.

Question: Can my son be involved in more programs than just the Feeder Mustangs?

Absolutely.  We have official practice on Sunday and Thursday nights to keep Saturdays open for those participating in other programs.  We only ask that if there is a conflict between our program and another program that you make our program the priority.  With the practices and CNR games always on Sunday, there should be very few, if any, conflicts with other programs.

Question: How can I register my son for tryouts?

Registration will be completed online at www.mustangfeederbasketball.com.  Please continue to check this website for important updates regarding tryout dates, times, and registration.  Registration will be open on August 1st, 2015, for the 2015-2016 Feeder Season.
