Dear Baseball Parents and Guardians,
With the spring season right around the corner, we wanted to inform you about our need for fundrasing.
Why a fundraiser? Did you know that the athletic department allocation to the baseball programs is only $2,300? That’s not even enough to pay for game balls. This is why the fundraiser is so important. Coach Consiglio places a high value on all players being equally outfitted and presenting themselves as a team in matching, fresh apparel. The money raised will purchase sweatpants, sweatshirts, practice tees and shorts—as we know, baseball is a basically a three-season sport (winter, spring and summer!) so the boys need to be prepared for 40- and 80-degree days. There are also the mandatory hats, socks and replacement pants for each player that can’t be reused from year to year.
In addition, there are the equipment needs. The team goes through hundreds of balls during the season. There are the game balls, practice balls, machine balls…50 dozen balls in all! There are also the safety items that must be funded, such as batting helmets, new netting for the batting cages, etc.
You may view an itemized budget by clicking here.
As you can see, the needs of the program far outweigh the school's funding.
Thank you for your suppoort,
Coach Consiglio
