• HitTrax Gameplay

  • HitTrax is a data capture and simulation system. Just as Pitch F/X and Hit F/X technology tracks the velocity and movement of pitched and batted balls in major league stadiums, HitTrax captures those metrics inside of a batting cage. HitTrax then feeds those metrics into its simulation engine. Batted ball exit velocity and launch angle are converted to a virtual ball flight on a virtual baseball field. Virtual defenders react to the hit, batters turn into virtual baserunners, and innings play out in real time.

The result is a simulated baseball game. Except instead of hitting buttons to determine the outcome of a play, you are hitting real baseballs.

Here is a look-in on a HitTrax game:

  • It is very, very cool.

Our gameplay will consist of teams of 3-6 players playing two nine-inning games. Batters will square off against a hand-fed pitching machine (our 50 and 65 mph divisions). Teams of every age and skill level are invited to join the division that best suits their collection of players. Teams will battle across a regular season schedule, and top teams will advance into a postseason playoff format.

Baseball has always been an outdoor sport. That's about to change. The Indoor Baseball Experience, the Northeast Hit Club, MABLMetrics, and the Twin Cities Indoor Baseball league are excited to offer a whole new season of baseball to players in and around the Twin Cities Metro area!
