INDOOR OVERNIGHT TOURNAMENTS

Do you hate when the weather begins to change and the cold starts rolling in because you cant play softball anymore? Well dont worry we have you covered. Here at Major Softball World we provide weekend tournaments on Saturday nights beginning at 10:00 pm going till 7:00 am. We have room every week for 20 teams to enter our tournament. Ask how? Its easy when you have the best facility in the tri state area. Our facility is 8 stories high and the length of 3 full size soccer fields. With 2 games going on at the same time we are able to max out with 20 teams (we always max out). 2017 winter was a trial run for this and we have had nothing but great success. All 20 of the teams at the first indoor had nothing but great things to say. Here are the rules for the indoor

 

Every team that enters has 2 games minimum

Clinchers are always included in your entrance fee

Each game has 2 umpires (1 behind plate 1 in field)

$30.00 umpire fees per team per game

10 players on the field at a time

You may use 1 DH per game

You may use an unlimited amont of EH's per game

Everything caught of the roof of the dome is an out

Any ball hit off the nets & within 10 feet of net on roof is a live ball

The above rule is the umpires descreation

Each batter starts with a 1 & 1 count (2 swings)

Fouled 3rd Strike the batter is out

Games can end in a tie in a non playoff game

In playoff games, the first extra inning (5th) runner starts on 2nd base

In second extra inning (6th) and there on our runners start on 2nd & 3rd base

Balls that go under the net on over throws the runner is awarded 2 bases from last base occupied

Runners can not get doubled up on a ball that hits the dome

On a ball that hits the dome and is caught, it is a dead ball and the runners go back to origional base

Players must give themselves up on close playes (no dirty slides) or players can and will be ejected

If a player is ejected from a game, they can not play the remainder of the tournament

Ejected players must leave the facility immediately or their team will forfeit remaining games

Game time is forfeit time we are on a tight schedule there is no grace period for teams not ready to play

Games can run up to 45 minutes earlier then their scheduled time so teams must be ready to play early

Example: If your game is scheduled for 1:00 am you game can possibly start as early has 12:15am

Once again there is no grace period for teams it will be an immediate forfeit

Teams are allowed 3 INDIVIDUAL courtosey runners per game that can be used at any time. Once 3 runners are used, that team may not use any more courtosey runners for the remainder of that game. It is the umpires jobs to keep track of this. If the umpire for any reason does not call this out and the opposing team catches it, the runner will be called out immediately (a pitch does not have to be thrown for this to happen) once a courtosey runner touches the base he then can be called out. In case of an injury, if a team is out of courtosey runners, they can not use an additional runner. Even if the opposing team agrees to it. So use your runners wisely.

The last recorded out will be the courtosey runner (courtosey runners may run multiple times)

There is no bunting, stealing or chopping (umpires descreation) players can & will be called out

You can ONLY tag from 3rd base and only when the ball makes contact with the fielder or the ground (not the dome)

Players can lead from any base on the release of the pitch

If there is an attempt to pick off a runner, and the throw is wild, the runner must retouch the base before advancing

Fighting or arguements will not be tolorated and will be forced to leave the facility immediately

Players can not argue with the umpires, it is the managers job to argue all calls any player that argues with an umpire is subject to immediate ejection from the tournament and will be forced to leave the facility immediately

If a team wins they get 2 points if a team ties they get 1 point if a team loses they get no points.

Teams with most points wins

If teams are tied in points the first tie breaker is run differential (runs scores minus runs given up)

Second tie breaker is runs scored

If teams are tied with the same points & run differential and runs scored a winner will be determined at random

We reccomend that all teams bring a book and keep score. If there is any issue if a certain team does not have a book they have no valid arguement. If neither team has a book, whatever the umpire says goes. It doesnt matter if 50 people are atesting to this without proof there is no arguement.

 

The following rules are the rules of the facility. Although these are not our house rules we must respect and follow the facility rules. These rules will be inforced by comissioners, umpires and the security staff of the facility. Failure to follow these rules with result in immediate ejection from the facility

There is no fighting at any time

No cursing in the facility (within reason guys)

No eating or drinking in the facilty (unless in the seated area by consession stand)
No smoking or drinking alcholic beverages in the facility EVER (includes hooka & vape pens)

Throw out your garbage (there is garbage pails every 10 feet in the facility)

Clean up after yourselves (you wouldnt throw garbage on the floor in your house)

There is a small area with tables that you may sit at and drink non alcholic beverages (soda, water, gatorade, etc)

There is security in the facility that watchs everything that happens so dont be stupid
