1. ANNUAL FEES
A. Each team shall be subject to a $100 per team performance bond if any of the below conditions occur:
-If a team forfeits a game due to lack of players.
-If a team does not have 2 umpires for all games.
Team managers will vote on the topic to determine whether payment is to be made, majority wins.
2. REGULAR SEASON GAMES
A. A team may use a substitute runner which will consist of the last out (except the pitcher) for the catcher after 2 outs and the catcher on base.
B. There will be unlimited substitutions, however one player may not bat twice in the same time through the batting order. If a substitution is made and the player has already has an at bat, the player must wait until the next time through the lineup to bat again.
C. A minimum of 8 players is required for a team to begin a game. A team playing a game with only 8 players shall have an automatic out recorded each time this teams ninth batter is due up to bat.
D. The mercy rule will be 6 runs per inning. If a team trails by more than 6 runs in the 7th inning and the 10 run mercy rule has not been reached the 6 run per inning rule will not apply. In both tiers the 10 runs ahead after 5 innings mercy rule will be in effect.
E. In the event of a rain-shortened game, the game will be considered complete after 5 innings are played (or 4 1/2 if the home team is ahead).
F. It shall be the responsibility of the home team to pay the fees of the umpires for all league and playoff games.
G. Home team supplies the baseballs for the game.
H. Home team will be responsible for scorekeeping the game and relaying the final score to the statistician.
I. Ties will be played to a maximum of 2 extra innings.
J. If games are postponed within 24 hours of the scheduled game time, for any other reason than inclement weather, the team will lose performance bond . The team that cancels after this time will pay for the umpires if needed.
K. A lineup card shall be given to the umpire & scorekeeper before the start of the game with the starting lineups and available substitutions listed.
L. Home teams must finish their infield practice ten minutes prior to game time. Visiting teams must finish their infield practice prior to game time. Under no circumstances shall a game be delayed because of infield practice.
3. PLAYOFFS
A. The first round of playoffs will have the 1st place team play the 4th place team. The other series will have the 2nd place team play the 3rd place team. Each series will be a best of three format. The 2 winners of those series's will then play a best of 3 league final to determine an FVBL champion.
B. To be eligible for playoffs players must have played a minimum of 3 regular season games.
C. Should a tie occur among two or more teams at the end of the regular schedule the following shall apply to break the tie:
(1) The team with the most wins.
(2) The team with the most wins in games played amongst the teams involved.
(3) The best runs for and against ratio in games among the teams involved.
(4) By a coin toss.
D. If a playoff game ends in a tie and is not game 3, the next game will be played in full prior to finishing the tied game. If the tied game is still relevant it will then be finished immediately following the finished game to reduce on travel.
E. In playoffs the 6 run per inning mercy rule does not apply, however the 10 runs ahead after 5 innings will still exist.
F. In playoffs, teams will follow the 9-man sask baseball rules regarding lineups/substitutions.
