In 2024, we tragically lost three members of our SJNABA community to mental health struggles. These were more than teammates—they were our friends, and their loss was deeply felt by all of us.
Through conversations with mental health professionals, we’ve learned that depression and substance abuse are widespread among young male athletes across the country.
As leaders in our community, we feel a responsibility to address this crisis head-on. That’s why we’re proud to announce the SJNABA Mental Health Care Initiative, starting March 1, 2025.
How It Works:
For Coaches:
We ask that you encourage your players to take advantage of this resource. They don’t need to share with their teammates, coaches, or anyone else—they just need to click the link and show up for their session.
Our Goal:
Young men are the least likely to seek therapy or admit they need help. We hope this initiative breaks down those barriers and provides a safe space for anyone who might be struggling in silence.
Together, we can ensure no one in our community suffers alone. Visit the SJNABA website to learn more or book a session.
