Brittany McPhee leads the Rams to victory and another trip to the 4A State Championship Tournament. This time McPhee and her teammates expect a much different outcome. In the previous two years the Rams have finished third and just short of state championship glory, but now they have more experience, a senior Stanford Cardinal captain and a supporting cast that seems to score at will- not to mention stifling defense.
Against Edmonds-Woodway, Brittany had her way early, setting the tone with 13 points in the first 16 minutes of the game, with eleven of those coming in the first quarter. The 2 time defending Gatorade Player of the Year proved to much for Woodway and her supporting cast packed a punch as well. This team looks like they are in mission mode and the mission is to destroy any team in the path of their ultimate goal...a state championship.

Mount Rainier secured it third West Central/Southwest bi-district title in a row. Mount Rainier (22-3) outlasts Skyview (22-2) in the semifinals of the West Central District 4A tournament at Puyallup High School. The Rams were lead by Emily Fiso for most of the night. She had all of her 19 points in the first three periods and the final nine of the opening period. Her bullseye shooting from behind the arc helped open the floor up for Brittany McPhee. Mcphee took over in the fourth, sinking nine of her game high 23 points in the finial period.
The Rams will play No. 6 Todd Beamer (23-1) Saturday at noon at Pacific Lutheran University in a rematch of last year’s final. Beamer (23-1), which advanced with a 60-53 overtime win against Bellarmine Prep, owes its only loss to Mount Rainier after beating the Rams earlier in the season. Mount Rainier has advanced to the championship for the fourth consecutive year and is seeking its third straight West Central District 4A Title.
