Roxbury High School Swim Team Parents Association
The intent and purpose of this association shall be to provide financial and moral support to the RHS Swim Team.
Nominating Committee - Two parents
The Nominating Committee is responsible for finding four parents willing to fulfill the roles of President, Vice-President, Secretary & Treasurer of the RHS Swim Team Parents Association for the following swim season. The nominees are elected at the end of the swim season for the following year.
Fund-Raising Committee - Two parents
This is not as tough a job as it sounds. The RHS Swim Team Parents Association has very few fundraisers.
Most of our revenue comes from the parents of the swimmers joining the Parents Association. The fee to join is $60. The benefits of joining the Parents Association are two-fold:
We also encourage parents to contribute to the “fun-less” fundraiser which is a donation to the Parents Association.
The Fund-Raising Committee organizes, coordinates, publicizes and runs the above.
Hospitality Committee - Three parents
The Hospitality Committee is another easy job. The team has three traditional fun events for the swimmers
Scholarship Committee - One coordinator, one junior parent, one sophomore parent, and one freshman parent
Each year the RHS Swim Team Parents Association awards two scholarships; one to a graduating female swimmer and one to a graduating male swimmer. The Scholarship Committe assists the Scholarship Committee Chairperson by reading and judging the scholarship applicants essays. The Scholarship winners are decided upon by the Scholarship Guidelines of which the essay is a portion of the criteria.
