BLUEWATER FASTBALL LEAGUE (BWFL)
POLICIES AND PRINCIPLES
(2013 Revision)
1. An entry fee of $150 will be charged to each new team entering the BWFL. This fee will be used to pay the cost of the BWFL expenses (postage, phone call, etc). From time to time existing teams may be required to pay an additional fee to cover the costs of running the BWFL.
2. In addition to the entry fee, each new team must post a Performance Bond of $200 before starting league play. This Bond is refundable when the team drops out of the BWFL after completing a minimum of two (2) consecutive season’s play, and providing they have met all obligations of the BWFL Constitution and the Policies and Principles. Any fines levied against a team will be taken from this Bond, and the amount must be restored before the team plays any playoff games.

All BWFL teams must annually purchase both Liability & Accident Insurance through the OASA, no later than the annual scheduling meeting. The League Treasurer shall pay such insurance premiums, or proof of purchase shall be required for those purchasing individually.

3. Each team is allowed one vote at BWFL meetings. This vote is to be made by each team's Director or a representative who will be recognised by the BWFL. The Director will be designated as the voting member and the rep, as his/her alternate, is to be given voting responsibility in the case of absence of the Director. Although other team members may be allowed to attend BWFL meetings, they will not be allowed to vote.

4. The BWFL Executive will consist of the following:
i) President;
ii) Vice-President;
iii) Secretary Treasurer;
iv) Statistician; and
v) Past President
The position of President and Vice President shall have a maximum term of office of 1 year, the Vice President expected to take a second year as President. Secretary Treasurer position shall be held for a maximum period of 2 years. At the conclusion of the terms all officers are eligible for re-election.

5. The Statistician will be paid each year by each member team. This fee is negotiable and presently stands at $75/team. In addition, all Statistician expenses (postage, phone call, etc) are payable by the BWFL.

6. BWFL statistics are to be filled out and sent to the Statistician within seven days of game. There is a $20 fine for late filing of statistics if reported by the Statistician.

7. Each year the BWFL buys pennants for the regular season and playoff champions.
8. The BWFL is committed to playing all regular season games. Failure to do so results in fines and forfeitures as stated in the BWFL Constitution. One weeks grace will be given after the end of the regular season to ensure a fair chance has been given to complete any cancelled games.
9. To recognise special achievements by our players, the BWFL will present a plaque/trophy to acknowledge the following milestones:
Pitchers - 1,000 strikeouts
- 75 wins
Batters - 250 hits
- 120 runs scored
- 40 home runs
- 120 runs batted in.

10. Playoff format changes as does the members who make up the BWFL. Each year the playoff format will be voted on and set-up before the start of regular season play.
11. Each year a BWFL Banquet will be held to recognise the contribution of all our member teams. Each team is responsible for paying for at least 10 tickets. Failure to meet this obligation will result in forfeiture of the Performance Bond. The Banquet will be rotated among the member teams, with the team having the most league seniority whom has yet to host the Banquet being given the first chance. If a year-end playoff tournament has been selected in #11 above, the banquet may be included with that event.

12. The entry deadline for any team wishing to participate in the BWFL shall be the Spring Scheduling Meeting for that calendar year.

13. All individual statistics quotas shall be established each year at the Spring Scheduling Meeting and shall be based upon the number of games in the regular season schedule for that year by using the following formulae:
batter’s at plate appearances = 2.75 app/gm * .75 * # of games
pitcher’s innings required = 4.0 inn/gm * .5 * # of games
