Southern Basketball Academy Post Grad Information
Our Postgraduate team is made up of 10-13 players per team (athletes) that play at least 20-25 Games around the U.S. gaining exposure to provide opportunities for NCAA, NAIA, JUCO, and collegiate scholarships.
Benefits of a Post Graduate Team
● To assist in obtaining a GED and assisting in G.P.A., ACT, and SAT scores.
● Skill development-Conditioning, weight training, and personal training at the collegiate level
● Gives athletes a second chance to get better or recover from an injury
● Another opportunity to get recruited if he/she was overlooked in high school
● The NCAA along with other Conferences allows you a fifth year of playing time 4 years of college and 1 year of Post Grad but only in a Post Grad School
● Games will be played in Post Grad showcases against National level Juco (Jr. College), NAIA JV TEAMS, DII JV TEAMS, and Other Post Grad and Prep Schools.
● National Exposure
● College scouts can sign a Postgraduate player during the NCAA signing periods
● Prepare the athletes for college academics and collegiate sports
● Assist in building leadership, respect, humility, self-confidence, and integrity
Cost of the Post Graduate Program / Candidates are eligible for Certain Scholarships according to G.P.A., SAT, and ACT Test Scores.
$5000.00 for the program (Housing and Food are not included)
$7500.00 for (Housing and Program) Food is not included
Includes:
● Training Program at a collegiate level
● Uniforms, Gym Usage and Rentals, Van Rentals, Meals after Away Games
● 1 SAT or 1 ACT paid for by Post Grad
● Transportation to games outside of 1hr. distance if needed.
● First Aid/CPR & AED certification
Requirements for SBA Post-Graduate Program
To be accepted to Southern Basketball Academy Post Graduate Program, the following is required:
● Application and Application Fee -$100.00 (non-refundable application fee). This is not part of the fee for the program.
● Transcripts and SAT or ACT scores if taken.)
● Registered and qualified with the NCAA Clearinghouse
● Criminal background check, drug test screening, and a full sports physical ● 3 letters of recommendation (Coaches, Teachers, Mentors, etc.)
● A one-page essay from the applicant stating why they would like to be a part of SBA and our Post Graduate Program
● A one-page essay from the parent(s) stating why they believe SBA and our Post Graduate program will be beneficial for their child
● A personal interview with Mr. Davis (Owner of SBA with the applicant and parent(s) ● A good attitude from the applicant and supportive parent(s)
● Able to get along with your peers on and off the court
● Willing to become a TEAM player and understand the importance of TEAM, especially on the court
