An appreciation of the sport of ice hockey frequently runs in families.  As is often the case, if one or more of the parents play, or have played, it is likely that their children will play, as well.  Beginning with the 2012-13 season, the Patriots first second-generation player joined the team - a player whose father had skated for the team when he attended Portsmouth High School in previous years.  In subsequent seasons more second-generation players joined for the team just as their fathers had once done.  Below is a list of the Patriots’ second -generation players and their dadswith the seasons they skated for Portsmouth.
