Line Ref responsibilities 2025 Etiquettes
 
We are there for player safety and to prevent unfair advantage for either team
 
Focus on your position - no distractions
Follow the play for accurate calls
Throw the flag and report to referee
Mark the spot accurately
 
Coverage:
 
1/Rusher line - offsides, hand checks, out of bounds, illegal blocks, jumping, diving, spinning, illegal contact, pass interference, unnecessary roughness
 
2/Deep Man - hand checks, out of bounds, illegal blocks, jumping, diving, spinning, illegal contact, pass interference, unnecessary roughness
 
Positioning:
 
Rusher line  coverage - right side field of play
 
Deep man - left side field of play
 
Referee - Midfield covering all that occurs + time counts, yardage and penalties
 
***Red Zone / Converts :
 
1/ Deep man is on the line at the back of the end zone
 
2/ Line of scrimmage is on the goal line Thank you for volunteering
