JV Roster

The JV roster will be players from the 2019 Freshmen team and possibly some players from the 2019 JV team.  We will make some roster decisions prior to the summer season, and some at the end of the summer season.  This summer season serves as a tryout for the next year’s 2020 JV team.

  1. Liability and Waiver Release Form: This will be sent home with players soon.

  1. Cost:   Varsity Summer donation is $150.00.  JV Summer donation is $100.00.  This covers summer league fees, tournament fees, coaching stipends and baseballs.   Please make checks payable to SABC.

  1. Summer Absences: Each player must turn in a copy of the schedule with absences noted.  This is very important for the coaching staff to be able to plan our rosters and lineups. Be sure to note absences based on your team’s schedule.

Varsity Summer Absences       JV Summer Absences

All summer paperwork (consent form, fee, absence list) is due to Coach Gonzalez no later than: Friday, May 31st, 2019

Practice Schedule

Plan on the facility being open for players every weekday for the three weeks from when school gets out to when our facility is shut down on July 5.

Weight Room

This is a major program priority for the coming summer.  All levels will participate in a full weight training, speed training and velocity development program.

Other Teams

Players are permitted to play on other teams during the summer months. We ask that:

  1. players are committed to Camarillo Baseball games as a first priority and
  2. absences are communicated well in advance so the coaching staff can plan and make sure we have a full team present at each game.

We also ask that pitchers are mindful of their arms and communicate with both teams about when they will be pitching.  This is very important to avoid arm fatigue and possible injury during these very important months of development.

Exit Meetings

Varsity and JV players will have exit meetings on: TBD

Preliminary roster decisions for 2019-2020 Varsity and JV teams will be communicated to players at these meetings.

Spring 2020: Players invited to be on the fall roster, for all levels, will also be on the Spring 2020 rosters.  These are not final rosters as additional players may be added following winter tryouts.  The only reason a player will not be included in the spring 2020 program following summer 2020 roster decisions is if he is not academically eligible or violates the player conduct policy.

5th Annual Blue-Grey Scrimmage (Freshmen vs. Sophomores)

  • Incoming Freshmen (Class of 2023) vs. Sophomores (Class of 2022)
  • Date: TBD
  • ACHS Varsity Field

End of Summer

  • The last official dates for the summer program are the exit meetings on :  TBD
  • The weight room may be open for optional lifting sessions 2-3 times per week for late July and early August.   Times and days will be communicated when we get closer to the close of summer.
  • Baseball "dead period" is July 30 through August 17th

Medical Clearance

All athletes are required to have a sports physical prior to all summer/school year try-outs and participation in all sports.  A new medical clearance package, including a physical, must be done every year (they are only good for 1 year) and submitted to ACHS Athletics.   We highly suggest you get this taken care of NOW!

Athletic Clearance is ONLINE:  (www.athleticclearance.com)

You must log into the Athletic Clearance website and register online here.  You will be creating an account for your student(s) online. You will need your students ID number, insurance information, primary Care Doctor and other information as is normally needed for the paper format.  Once you register an email confirmation will be sent to you with the Parent Consent /Physical Form and Parent Permission Slip links included.

Please feel free to email any questions about the summer program to Coach John Gonzalez John.Gonzalez@oxnardunion.org
