Team Rules

  1. Practice

a) Full equipment is required (neck guard, mouth guard, practice jersey) and no jewelry is allowed.  If you do not have these items or are wearing jewelry, you will not practice.  If it happens more than once:

  1. Suspended one period.
  2. Suspended half of game.
  3. Suspended for one game.

 

b) Unexcused missing of practice- One time

  1. Suspended for one game.

c) Unexcused missing of practice- Twice

  1. Suspended for one week.

d) Unexcused missing practice- Third offense

  1. Suspended from the team indefinitely.

e) Late for practice- One time

  1. Warning.

f) Late for practice- Twice

  1. Miss that practice.

g) Late for practice- Third time

  1. Miss that practice.
  2. Suspended one game.

h) Late for practice-last time

  1. Suspended one week/off team.
  1. School Disciplinary Actions

a) Referrals and Detentions

  1. All referrals and detentions will be addressed at the strict discretion of the coaching staff.
  2. First offense: suspended one period
  3. Second offense: suspended one game
  4. Third offense: suspended one week
  5. Fourth offense: suspended indefinitely

b) Attendance

  1. All student/athletes will be in school ON TIME and FOR THE ENTIRE DAY, unless LEGALLY excused. Absence from school for the following reasons are considered excusable: illness, death or illness in the family, medical appointments, impassable roads, religious observances, quarantine, an approved college visit, take-your-child-to-work-day, military obligations, required presence in court, remedial health treatment, approved cooperative work programs or other reasons approved by Board of Education. Absences, tardiness or early departure are considered unexcused if they do not fall in one of the abm e cateoories. Unexcused absences include: family vacation, hunting, babysitting, hair-cut, obtaining learner's permit, road test, or oversleeping. at tendance is required for participation, even for excused absences.

a) First offense: suspended one period
b) Second offense: suspended one game
c) Third offense: suspended one week
d) Fourth offense: suspended indefinitely

 

c) In School Suspension (ISS)

  1. All violations of this will be addressed at the strict discretion of the coaching staff.
  2. Full day ISS will result in suspension for one game.
  3. Second offense: suspension for one week
  4. Third offense: suspended from team indefinitely.

d) Out of School Suspension

  1. Suspended from team for length of Suspension with meeting to determine status after Suspension ends and possible removal from program.

e) Athletic Conduct Code

  1. All of the policies enforced in the Student Conduct Code (signed by both player and parent) including alcohol, drugs, and citizenship will be strictly enforced by the coaching staff.  Any violations will be met with strict discretion of the coaching staff, which could result in termination of participation in the Varsity Ice Hockey Program.
  1. Academics

All players must maintain an overall passing average in EACH CLASS.  The new academic policy is on a “F” System, as follows:

  1. 1 “F”- Probation
  2. 2 “F’s”- Can practice, cannot participate in games.
  3. 3 “F’s”- Ineligible for any participation.

 Grades will be reviewed every three weeks, and players will not be able to participate in games for 2 and 3 “F’s” until the failing grades are passing.

 

  1. Penalties

a) ANY ABUSE OF OFFICIALS PENALTIES OR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT PENALTIES WILL RESULT IN SUSPENSION FROM THAT CONTEST AND POSSIBLE LONGER SUSPENSION.

 

          b) Minor Penalties

1. Multiple penalties will be dealt with at the discretion of the coaching staff.

 

          c) Misconduct’s

1.  Will sit the Misconduct, and the same time for the team.  If received in the Third Period of any game, will sit the First Period of the next contest.

          d) Disqualification’s

  1. Suspended for two (2) games (one for league, one for team), at the strict discretion of the coaching staff.
  2. More than one received suspended from team indefinitely. 
  1. Team Functions

a) All team functions are MANDATORY unless excused by a member of the coaching staff. 

 

  1. Hazing

a) There will be NO HAZING of any kind tolerated by the coaching staff.  IF ANY PLAYER IS INTIMIDATED AND HAZED IN ANY WAY, THE PLAYER(S) INVOLVED IN THAT ACTIVITY WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM THE TEAM.

 

  1. Dress Code

Game attire requirements

a) Team pull-over.

b) White shirt AND tie- must be tucked in.

c) BLACK dress pants with belt.  Pants MUST fit appropriately.

d) Black dress shoes- NO sneakers, boots, or indoor soccer shoes.

e) NO EARRINGS and NO Baseball hats (winter hats will be acceptable).

f) ANY VIOLATION OF DRESS CODE WILL RESULT IN PLAYER SUSPENSION:

1) First Offense:                      Sit one period

2) Second Offense:                 Sit Two periods

3) Third Offense:                     Suspended one game

 

Practice attire requirements

a) NO EARRINGS OR JEWELRY ON ICE

b) Players must look presentable.
