"It was truly an honor to play for my homegrown of Fairbanks Alaska. Although the organization has had some disputes I still am proud to say I played for the Arctic Lions and Hockey Club Fairbanks. Playing in your hometown, in front of tour family and friends is so worth it. Especially with this organization. They always find ways to raise money, be involved in the community, and have pretty successful seasons. I've been to two Tier II Nationals with two different coaches. Shawn Lundgren for the first time and Adam Powell for my second time. Both of these coaches have taught me very important things. They have helped for the hockey player I have become, but more importantly the person I have become off the ice. Without their help I wouldn't know how to be a good person off the ice. Assistant coaches also had a major impact, especially Robert Thomas who would make it a point to work with me and teach me the little things. Those little things have allowed me to be a better hockey player. Whenever I make a move/play it most likely was taught to me by these coaches. Most it not all my skill comes from these coaches. I played Tier II with this organization up until this year. The only reason I left is because there wasn't going to be a team for my age group. I am very thankful for the things I have learned because of this organization, and wouldn't trade it if I had the choice.
