Tournament Rules

 

1. Game time is game time.  You will be given a 5 minute grace period. If your team is not ready to play by that time, the game will be consided a forfeit by a score of 15-0.  A team may start and finish a game with 4 players. 

 

2. There will be two 14-minute halves for 7th grade and up

            12-minute haves for 6th grade & under divisions.

 

3. 4 (30 second) timeouts total per game. Three minute halftime.

 

4. Overtime is 2 minutes—1 30-second timeout in overtime with no carryovers. Each extra overtime is 1 minutes with no timeout. 

 

5. A player fouls out on his 5th personal foul.

 

6. A team reaches 1-and-1 bonus on the 7th team foul of each half.

 

7. Team listed on left and top of bracket is home

 

8. Two technicals result in automatic ejection from the game.

 

9. Advancing out of pool play,

          In pools that have three teams all teams advance to bracket play.

          In pools that have four teams the top two advances.

 

10. Seeding from each pool will be determined by win-loss record in pool play. In case of ties, head-to-head competition determines seed. If 3 teams are tied, a point system comes into effect. There is a maximum of +15 for a win in pool and –15 for a loss in pool. All games in pool are included in figuring point system. In case teams are still tied, the least total points allowed in pool play will determine the higher seed. In case there is still a tie, a coin toss will determine seeding.

 

11. A player can only play on one team in his age group during the entire event. If a team loses, that player cannot switch to another team still in competition. All players participating in bracket play must have participated in at least one of the team’s pool games.

 

12. If a team is ahead by 20 or more points in the second half, the clock will not stop during that last two minutes.

 

13. Each team needs to provide someone to keep score. The home team will run the clock and the visiting team will keep the official scorebook.

 

14.  Both coach's need to make sure that the final score is on the official score sheet and the winning team is listed correctly. It is the responsibility of each coach to check the board at the main site to make sure the scores were called in correctly.  Mistakes can happen when scores are called in. 

  

15. The Tournament Director will have the final say regarding any disputes. This tournament is for the kids—let’s always keep that in mind.

 

16. We will present individual awards to all team members for 1st & 2nd place in each division’s championship.
