Our History

 

What is Georgia Xclusive Basketball Club (GAXBC)?

We are a highly selective basketball program out of Atlanta, Georgia.  Our players come from all over the metro area including Fulton, Cobb, Cherokee, Gwinnett, Douglas and Dekalb counties.  Our mission is simple: "to teach young kids basketball fundamentals, teamwork and a winning attitude".   GXBC is an affiliate of the National Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) umbrella organization.   We are an official 501c3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

 

Is there a cost to tryout?

Yes.  The tryout fee is $25.  The fee is used to cover the expenses of gym time and to fund raise for the upcoming season

 

How many teams does Xclusive field?

Xclusive is committed to having several grade level teams.  Depending on interest, additional teams may be created in the same (or different) grade levels. 

 

How many kids will each team carry?

We typically carry between 10-12 players per roster.

 

Will my child be guaranteed to make the team?  Will he receive a minimum amount of playing?

We will only select players that we believe can contribute and help our team win.  However, playing time is earned and no player is guaranteed a minimum amount of playing time.

 

When, where and for how long will you practice?

We have a network of gyms at which we practice:

• MLK Center (Downtown Atlanta - 30312)
• KIPP Academy (SW Atlanta - 30314)
• Briarwood Recreation Center (Brookhaven - 30319)
• Therell High School (Atlanta – 30331)

 

Each team will practice 1-2xs/week.  Practices will last between 1.5 - 2 hours.  We will do our best to schedule practice days one the same day week to week, however, on occasion we may need to switch days because of player/coach/gym availability.  The first practice date will depend on the team on which your athlete is selected to play and will be communicated by that team’s coach.

 

 

When do tournaments begin and in how many might be play?

Depending on the team, tournaments begin late February, early March 2018.   Also, depending on the team, you can expect to play in 8-12 tournaments.

 

Will my athlete have to travel out of state for tournaments?

Again, this will vary depending on with which team your athlete plays.  Some teams will play locally.  Others may play nationally.  It will depend on what the coach deems is appropriate for that particular team.

 

How long is the season?

The season typically ends in mid-June, but could extend into July, depending on the team
