Hitters Louisville Slugger Authentic Club Guestbook
Thanks RJ
RJ: Thanks just does not feel like it satisfies the gratitude my parents and I feel in regards to everything you have done for me in the past two years. To be able to play in front of college and pro scouts week in and week out was certainly an amazing opportunity. Your knowledge about the game both on and off the field is limitless. Absorbing everything I learned from the Hitters program has already payed dividends, with much more to come in the future. Thanks for all that you have done. Your heart couldn't be in a better place. I look forward to being able to help out the Hitters in any way possible in order to give back to the program that has given so much to me. Best of luck the rest of the way and continued success with Hitter's baseball!

Thanks RJ
Thanks Rj for all the great times you allowed my son Doug to have while playing for you,and the rest of the Hitters. The time, why short, was a great time for Doug to perfect his game that little extra and to stay sharp and focused on baseball, during the Fall. The other elite program in the area would not allow Doug to play in the Fall season because he was playing football. You came to Doug and gave him that opportuinity, both,Doug and i are greatful for that opportunity ! Through the years with the Hitters program Doug and i were privlidged to be asked to play Fall ball, attend Winter workouts and to be invited to listen to the special speakers you brought in. Everything about the program is 1st class from practice, games, recruiting trips and special event nights. Thanks lastly for allowing Doug to attend this years Fall workouts.Once a Hitter always a Hitter !!! Thanks for the great memories and keep up the good work.

Thank you
Our son, Trevor, is at Texas A & M-Corpus Christi living a dream.  This was made possible by the opportunities that Coach RJ gave him.  We appreciate the coaching, guidance, words of wisdom, and memories that Trevor and our entire family have received while being part of the Hitters team.  Thank you, RJ, for all that you did to make Trevor a better baseball player.  You run an awesome program!

RJ,

Paul and our family will be forever grateful to you and your program.  You gave Paul an opportunity to play on your fall travel team in 2007 and he was able to participate against some of the best competition in the Midwest.  Later, when the team qualified for the WWBA Championships in Jupiter, FL, you played against the best competition in the country.  Paul was virtually unseen, unscouted, or recruited by most programs until then - an unfortunate reality of living in Wisconsin and playing Summer HS ball.

It was while playing for you in the fall that the Detroit Tigers became more and more interested in him.  You also helped him with some great hitting drills and mechanics, as well as helped him work on his footwork.  There is no doubt that because Paul was in your program as well as the competition the Hitters played that he was able to take his game to another level and show that he was a prospect.  Now Paul has realized one of his dreams and was drafted by the Tigers out of HS, which doesn't happen that often for 3rd basemen in this state.  Thank you for giving Paul an opportunity with your program, and giving him a head start on his baseball career.

Hello
Hey RJ,
I have been on the website for hours having fun looking at everything.  Great job and a lot of info.  Good luck to you and all the players this summer!           Patti Hopkins

To future "Hitters" and parents:

Our son, David, completed his freshman high school baseball (summer) season in 2004 with a passion for the game and a burning desire to become the best player he could be.  At David’s request, we started to look for a place where he could continue to develop his skills.  Fortunately, a knowledgeable baseball friend, Dan Heinz, directed us to RJ Fergus and the Racine Hitters.  In RJ, David found a person who not only shared his passion for the game, but who has an outstanding ability to teach it.   David immediately began playing for the Hitters and RJ in the fall, and participating in RJ’s winter workouts.  Over the next four years, David spent countless hours taking batting practice with RJ (and his staff), and RJ was always there providing excellent hitting instruction- Saturdays, Sundays, weekdays.   David played with the Hitters each fall through high school where he got to play a high caliber of ball, met a lot of other ball players who are now friends and who also love the game, and got excellent exposure to college and pro scouts.   With all of David’s hard work, and with all of the hard work and instruction that RJ and his staff provided, David was named to the Wisconsin (WIAA-Summer) All State Baseball Team his junior and senior year, and is now attending the University of Notre Dame on a  baseball scholarship.  As parents, we would certainly recommend RJ and the Hitters as an excellent place for your son if he has that extra desire to develop his baseball skills to their fullest.  David still gets back to RJ’s at every opportunity to “freshen” up his stroke and to stay in touch with RJ and the Hitters.  Thanks, RJ!

Summary
RJ:
It's hard to find the proper words in which to thank you for the past year and a half that I've been in your program.  You're mentoring and coaching have progressed me not only as a baseball player but as a person as well.  Fall by far was my favorite season, and plenty of memories came from that.  The most meaningful thing I learned from you was the ability to get on top and how to compete.  I owe you for my opportunity to play college baseball.  I've already mentioned to younger guys in our program that they should come play with you.

We'll be keeping in touch, see you at the camp this summer.

Spring League
RJ:

Terrific job in setting up the Spring Hitters League, and providing meaningful coaching throughout.  The level of play, and the manner in which players conducted themselves was very impressive. Thanks for all the time you put into Hitters.

Thank you RJ
RJ Spring League was wonderful. Thank you for the time and devotion you gave to the boys. You managed to work with each and everyone of them to make them better ball players. I know of no one that gives so freely of his time to give others the opportunity to excel.
