The Catholic Schools Soccer Program was established in 1998 by Manchester-Area parochial school students, teachers and parent volunteers. CSS is hosted by St. Bridget School of Manchester Connecticut. Original 1998 schools and their representative members were St. Bridget Manchester-Lou Carpenter, Assumption Manchester-Mark Suprin, St. James Manchester-Chris Garrahan and St. Christopher E. Hartford-Paul Fitzgerald. 1999 entries were St. Bernard Rockville-Brian Griffin, St. Joseph Vernon-Tom Skahan, St. Mary Newington-Bob Biancamanno and St. Gabriel Windsor-Bob Luby. Since then, St. Rose E. Hartford-Vilma Canales(2002), St. Augustine Hartford-Ed Silvia(2003), St. Brigid-W. Hartford Bill Mentus(2005) and Corpus Christi Wethersfield-Dale Harris(2006) have joined our Catholic school soccer family! In 2009, we have been blessed with 2 new family members in St. Dominic Southington-Pete Rappoccio and St. Edward Stafford Springs-Isaac Walters. In 2010, St. Bernard-Enfield & Will Lorenz joined the CSS family while St. Gabriel-Windsor via Patricia Martin rejoined! Patricia Wright worked overtime to bring St. Martha-Enfield into the fold in 2011! In 2012, Peter Rappocchio, Paul Cyr & Brandon Moore joined together to insure St. Paul-Kensington's successful entry into CSS. Peter, a former coach at St. Dominic, helped coach a competitive St. Paul Varsity team in 2012! In 2013, Pope John Paul ll of New Britain was the latest newcomer to the family under the auspices of Jose Del Ama Gonzalo and Principal Cuprak! In 2014, Principal Kathy Peck with assists from AD Katie Schuman and coach Lou Carpenter brought St. John Paul ll Regional School, a merger between Saints Mary and John of Middletown, to the CSS table! 2015 witnessed our first Christian academy on the fields of Manchester as Jim Kirch and Cornerstone Christian Academy joined our faith based soccer community! In 2019, Principal Rebecca Goddard led the way in bringing recently merged St. Brigid/St Augustine into the CSS family. 2020 was the year Meriden's Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Eric Lopez and Michael Frechette committed to join the CSS ranks but alas, Covid shut down those thoughts quickly. In 2021, Jon Riopel and Adrian Torres brought Emmanuel Christian Academy of Newington into the CSS program bringing 2 JV and 1 Varsity team! Quite an enegetic program Adrian has developed! In 2022, Truth Baptist Church and program director Keith Tower joined the CSSCAS Family. We are truly blessed!
