Early in his rookie season Blair Umeri quickly showed why his basketball nickname is "Shooter". The London South Secondary School graduate hit six three-pointers in consecutive games which earned him his first Player of the Week honour.
His long range shooting makes it hard to believe he never played a game of high school basketball, instead focusing on football for the Lions. Primarily a pick up player, he has captured a "Hoop It Up" title on three separate occasions, but the Gus Macker has always been his kryponite.
A comerical banker by day, Umeri is a graduate of UWO.
